You know what. No. Fuck you. Fuck you for saying that. I have been with this game since the day it launched. For FIVE FUCKING YEARS I've stuck by this game, this story, these characters. For better or worse. For better AND for worse. This game has had soaring highs and abyssal lows. I have stayed and endured it all. From beginning to end.

And THIS is what I get at the end of it? THIS is what I get for staying? THIS is what I get for wasting five entire years of my life caring? Paying attention? Analyzing? Sharing thoughts and feelings with other people? I have invested so much of myself into this story, this world, these characters. As foolish as it is, they actually matter to me. They bring me joy and comfort and amusement. I even found some of them profound in their charactizations and arcs. And? And what? What did that lead to? Why did I care? What was the point?

"who cares! They'll retcon it with Timekeeper! It'll be ok!" Cool. Great. You know what else would've worked? Writing a good story that doesn't need to be retconned in the first place. How's that for a creative writing tip, huh? Crazy. And you know what else? That won't change anything. That won't change that this was the ending they originally went with. It will not erase the anger and disappointment. Especially because we all know that they'd only backpedal like that because they made people mad enough to harm their company financially (check out their stocks. They are RED).

"Chill out! It's just a game! It's not that serious!" Dude. My God. Of fucking COURSE it's just a game. Do you think I'm stupid? That I'm incapable of self-awareness? For God's sake I know it's a game. Its cosmic value is ultimately insignificant. But you know what? It's a game I CARED ABOUT. Do you say this to everyone for everything that happens? When people were upset over Stranger Things having a shit ending, did you go to them and go "um it's literally just a tv show why are you so mad lol"? Or when Game of Thrones crashed and burned? When any media or property does something ridiculous or ends in an unsatisfactory way? Even when someone's sports team bombs a game? People have the right to express discontentment with something they invested time, emotions and often money(!!!) into. And they do that because gee, it's almost like people connect to the media they consume on various levels, and when they think it sucks, they get upset. Isn't THAT something!!! Fuck me this line of thinking contributes NOTHING to any discussion ever, no matter what it's about. You can make ANYTHING not seem serious and thus whoever cares about it seem ridiculous. What do you achieve by doing that? Do you just want to feel like you're cool and above people who care enough about things to express emotions in public?
