Saw a post with this old trend and i wanted to do it with these 2 a lot, so here is the quick result of some dumb sketches

okay so. officially starting a ko-fi goal to help with moving costs (shipping my stuff, physically getting me there, covering a bit of rent) so i can live with my wife . goal is at $3k which i know is a lot to ask for help with but hopefully i shouldn't have to ask tumblr for help like this again barring some catastrophe

5) Doing Away With the New 52 Origin

Yeah, obviously. Toss that "yet another one of Zeus' kids" stuff in the garbage, use the Made of Clay origin, it's a classic for a reason.

4) Becoming the Ambassador of Themyscira to the World

Contrasting with some versions of Diana having a secret identity, I kind of jam more with the idea of her being a publicly known figure, with her role in the original Greg Rucka run of being a literal ambassador from her home country fit neatly with her goals of wanting to end war and so on. Her being an actual public figure enables her to enact more change than, say, hiding in a museum basement for roughly a century restoring artefacts like she was in the DCEU (retconned in WW 84 to her having some adventures in the intervening time). Just saying.

3) Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons Origin of the Amazons

This is apparently forming a partial basis for the Paradise Lost prequel show if or whenever it comes out, and I hope that a lot of the themes and vibes carry over into the DCU, as by fleshing out the Amazons they also flesh out Diana by proxy by showing her background.

2) More Queer Themes

Yeah, obviously. Previous live-action Diana stripped back a lot of this stuff, but canon stuff from the comics (obviously sapphic Amazons, Diana herself being bi and having been in relationships with other Amazons before leaving Themyscira, there being trans Amazons etc.) hopefully it's actually present in the DCU... Thus far it has been acknowledged to be a thing in Creature Commandos (so far, the only DCU media that actually deals with Themyscira via Circe and her idiot followers), but while the fact that the Amazons are largely queer is presented matter-of-factly the people who seem to dwell on it are presented as immature het dudes. Having actual LGBTQ rep from people actually from Themyscira is better than having some doof going "lesbians are hot to me personally", y'know?

There are literally like 3 other fics for this ship and I was shooketh to find out that so few people saw this badass cat lady captain and this overworked, tired but amazing mother and didn't immediately go "They should kiss."

I am on my hands and knees begging.

Problem is that I've done it so much that I have genuine problems with writing in present tense now. Like, I have the usual "Oh, I'm used to past tense so sometimes I slip back into it :P" problem, but I also feel like the style for writing past tense is different than for present tense???

English is not my first language and in my native language past and present tense is very much just how you bend the words, the sentence structure stays the same. But I feel like with English some ways of structuring sentences work better for past tense while others work better for present tense.

And since I almost exclusively write in past tense, I structure my sentences like I'm writing past tense but then I just bend the words/use the present tense descriptors when I write in present tense and it just looks??? strange to me??

Is this a thing or am I just seeing things because I'm not used to present tense??
