TAKE ME TO THE PILOT OF YOUR SOUL

"It was never about me" first of all from a Tedependent standpoint that's fucking bullshit. But for Ted to actually say this, and then leave, and go back to life he had before Richmond, to a wife that didn't love him... The ERASURE of Ted from his own narrative is fucking ridiculous. It's TRAGIC, that after he came here and helped everybody become better (in Trent's words, created a culture of trust and support), he erases himself as if he didn't matter. And Trent changes the title. Rebecca moves on. Roy takes his job. They brush over him, and go on to live their lives. Without Ted. Ted who helped them so much. Ted who is now back in that box that he was stuck in. But I guess he has a son, so nothing else matters, right? He's not a person in this narrative, but a parent. His feelings don't matter. He doesn't matter. All that matters is that because he is so afraid of ending up like his father, that he ends up like nothing but a father.

all we wanted for ted was someone to love him and fight for him, trent blew up his life to follow him around like a simp for a year and rebecca begged him to stay at richmond despite the money and you want me to accept that he went home to the woman who instead begged him to leave her and randomly decided he was worth the bother offscreen???

No bc i don't understand why did they even bring up Ted's love life so much this season? What was the reason if he was not going to get any romantic resolution? If he was gonna end up just as a plot device? And when everyone finished getting as much from him as possible, just to be sent off to Kansas to his ex wife that doesn't get him and potentially her ex-couples therapist unethical boyfriend, not living up to his potential, alone, in an environment where he felt stuck and put in a box?

the saddest part for me is ted just. being alone in kansas like obviously with his son but the comparison between that and everyone still being connected with their little community in richmond is literally too bleak for me to stomach

I honestly think they dropped the ball on the ted and nate storyline. ted as a character was fleshed out by not having him be this two-dimensional, always positive person and having one of his pressing issues be him not being able to open up and express his emotions. while it is in character for ted to have already forgiven nate, for the show to wait to the very last episode for them to have a real conversation and for it to not even have ted express how nate had hurt him is a disservice to both characters and their overall arcs

oh ok canonize the couple after showing copious amounts of emotional abuse. no that’s fine. not even gonna “endgame beardjane but not x ship!” bc we should just full stop on that first part and be very very upset about it

Ted lasso: actually let’s rip our title character away from his community and also ruin every important romantic relationship except the abusive one !!!

Shout out to that unnamed Richmond player who saw the opportunity to give Trent a celebratory hug and took it. You the real MVP.
