I made my previous post soon. š My Sims 2 game is fixed so I can once again film machinima and play the game. I had to keep adjusting some of the core files to fix the resolution and now it runs properly.
The main loading screen is still in a small window, but the rest of the game looks fine, Iāll probably just have to accept the loading and initial neighborhood choice screens being tiny.

My first-ever Paralives photo. I am figuring out the game and still decorating her house after she starts work, but I'm so glad to finally have this game working.
I am still actively playing and creating in Sims 2. Just need to fix the resolution issue in my TS2 game and I'll be good to film again.
After successfully resetting my computer after a bad Windows update broke its core functionality, I now cannot get Sims 2 to open in the correct resolution. I've run it through Graphics Rules Maker, changed the resolution in another Config file, and am using RPC Launcher with Spockthewok's graphic fixes. There is a setting somewhere that isn't correct after the reset, but I will eventually nail it down so I can finish filming my videos.
I often feel like a has-been on tumblr since I donāt post as much as I did years ago, but sometimes an old post will get reblogged and Iām reminded that people still enjoy my decor photos. š„²
Iām still here and creating, just juggling a lot in life that limits my game time some days.

Fresh Prince is known for their car creations, but they also made this nice entertainment center. It had been archived on Basically Amused Sims, but that link no longer works. I've reuploaded the entertainment center to my SimFileShare so it can continue to be enjoyed.
Note: This object might be cloned from the Free Time entertainment center, so you may need that expansion pack for it to work. I am just reuploading unavailable custom content, so I cannot provide support if it doesn't work in your game. Use at your own risk.

My experience with Spockthewokās Pink Soup patch for Sims 2 has been positive so far. Sharing for data collection purposes if itās helpful! I still need to continue testing the patch, but I am using V1 and it works great with the RPC launcher.
Last night, I was able to load a huge, decor-heavy lot and save it, then exit back to the neighborhood with no pink flashing. Exiting back to the neighborhood is where I have never been able to stop the pink flashing. With this, I could also switch between neighborhoods with no flashing. ļæ¼ļæ¼
After I start filming machinima again in a couple days (gotta do some decorating first), I will stress-test the patch with having more than eight active sims on one lot. Thatās when my game always crashed due to RAM issues when I was using a non-gaming laptop.

Spockthewok (aka Will Nixon) wrote a master's thesis on pink flashing, figured out the cause and potentially found the first genuine fix.

The one thing that stopped my Sims 2 crashing
Y'all, I finally had a breakthrough with my Sims 2 game! After many months of running fixes, RPC launcher, Graphics Rules Maker, and pretty much every other suggested fix I could find, the one thing that seems to have stopped the crashes is a complete clean install of my video card drivers.
For context, I'm using a new gaming laptop with Windows 11. There's more than enough RAM and memory, and the Nvidia GeForce video card can handle much heavier games than TS2. Once I uninstalled and did a clean reinstall of my video card drivers, it seems that my game can now recognize that there are more than enough GB of RAM to run the game.
I was able to run the game, decorate, save multiple times, and film with the in-game camera for hours with no lag or crashes. Finally!
Forever 30 - A Special Coupleās Living Room and Kitchen
I had a successful build and decorating session last night to get ready to film a couple of scenes. I worked a lot on this coupleās fancy backyard, which will be visible in the film. This couple prefers modern decor with a mix of sports memorabilia for one partner and black and cream color schemes for the other.
