Hello, folks! Thank you so much for all the wonderful art and support you've provided to Blank Party! over the years. It was a magical project for us-- Stephanie, Reilly, Chu, John and Bridget-- to work on. We experimented a lot, learned what we were good at and what we weren't so good at, and had a lot of fun along the way.
When we started Blank Party!, we were all living in the same small town in Vermont, which made coordinating our recording sessions and anthology projects easy. However, once we graduated from the school most of us were attending and moved different cities and states, getting together to get anything done got harder and harder. Not only that, but we as individuals became more involved in our personal projects and ambitions. The fact that we got Banjo-Partie! and Chrono Party! done despite these factors feels like quite a feat.
Although we all still love the idea of Blank Party!, we're just getting busier, and coming together to collaborate on new anthologies and recording video is not getting any easier. So we've come to the decision to put the label on indefinite hiatus.
We don't want to say good-bye. Each of us is still very much involved in loving video games and making comics. If you liked Blank Party!, then we hope that you'll take the time to check out our solo projects. And who knows? If inspiration strikes and the circumstances are just right, maybe we'll come together to make another Blank Party! collaboration. But for now, we don't want to leave anyone hanging on promises we can't guarantee we'll fulfill.
Thanks again for being awesome!
❤️ Blank Party!
Chu is still hard at work on her long-running, award-winning webcomic Slightly Damned (now a part of Hiveworks). A Kickstarter to produce new editions of the long out-of-print Slightly Damned books is set to launch sometime soon. She wishes to conclude Slightly Damned's spinoff, The Soprano of Time, and return to her second webcomic, The Junk Hyenas Diner, sometime in summer 2018. She also designs animal-themed merchandise such as t-shirts and stickers for sale at conventions across the country (and maybe someday, around the world!).
raizap.com/ Is her main website, and contains links to all her webcomics, Patreon, art galleries, and online stores.
Stephanie is still in VT, teaching at a video game school and being very busy running all sorts of projects intended to help cartoonists both locally and beyond. They run a database of comic cons and zine fests called Conosaurus, a femme comics newspaper called The Ladybroad Ledger, and a comics-centric art center called Words & Pictures.
