not can, do and will. it shouldn’t be a “maybe”, because it’s not. It’s a definite thing - young trans people **have** a future, and we need to guide and lead them into it with open hearts and open minds

Y’know I reblogged this a bit ago and was saved from financial probation and getting kicked out of school because of it, just mere months from graduation. Got a call from the financial aid advisor telling me that they made a mistake with filing my account (or some other sort of clerical error) and said that, basically, they owe me money. Welp.

literally yes. The Spanish brought technology (literally every little aspect of them. Their clothes, their weapons, their ideologies, their boats…) and yes, the indigenous had already technology, but it wasn’t as modern as the one that the Spanish brought. Yes, the spanish did conquer, impulse catholicism, bla bla bla everything everybody knows. But if it wasn’t of the spanish, we couldn’t have the modern society we have today. Also this is basic history??

Everyone is using “hurr durr basic history” to defend their ignorant views, but you have to face the facts: history is written by the ‘winners’. We don’t learn about indigenous people, no one wants us to know. They promote Thanksgiving like we were on some peaceful terms with the natives and they were OH SO GRATEFUL FOR THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE SETTLERS. They’ll tell you in the history books we brought them blankets for the cold, but won’t mention it was covered in smallpox knowing they had no way to deal with the epidemic. They’ll teach us that they made peaceful treaties to provide them land, and not mention that they had every right to the land in the first place, and that they gave them tiny little plots and laughed in their faces. If you want the actual history, the truth of it, talk to indigenous people. Let them lay the hard truth on you with this.  Our history is butchered and hand-picked to place white men in a grand light, when they were the villains writing the history books. We should be sorry. This isn’t the ‘land of the free’, not when it was built on the backs and the bodies of those who truly owned the land.  And we have no idea the science and technological advancements the natives would have achieved had there been no genocide. They never were given the opportunity or chance to show us because white men decided they deserved this shit more and took it by force.

i understand where people are coming from when they say that notre dame will be rebuilt but i also wish they would like. shut up for a second because even if it is rebuilt, its not the same building. all that will be left when the fires are gone is the frame. the 800 year old rose windows are gone. its well documented, sure, but it will be a recreation. i appreciate people trying to keep optimistic about this situation but at the same time, just let people fucking grieve. a priceless piece of art and history was lost today and it wont come back, you can rebuild notre dame a thousand times and it won’t erase this moment of watching it burn. let yourself be fucking sad.

If a man says he’s going to hurt himself unless you do what he says, let him. You aren’t responsible for his actions. You are not guilty for what he does to himself, you don’t owe him, you are not his thing to control, you don’t exist to serve him, you are allowed to go on living your life.

It does. Using a threat of suicide to manipulate someone is a low and dirty trick.

This also isn’t just romantic relationships. I had a roommate use this tactic on me not too long ago to keep me from leaving.  I got out and they were lying. You’re more important than anyone in your life. If someone pulls this shit on you, please take care of yourself and seek a way out.
