Hello Nerd-sama

The wind howled as it swirled around you. Snowflakes catching in your hair as they flew past, the clouds covering the bright full moon casting a warm shadow over you. 

You sat on the roof with your knees pulled to your chest, eyes trained on the million little stars glaring back at you. Their light made you feel so small, so unimportant. You let your hands come to rest on the wooden shingles supporting your weight as a heavy sigh runs through you.

"What are you doing up here?"

The voice doesn't surprise you. You knew Technoblade would come looking for you the second he realized you weren't in bed. When you don't respond, the piglin huffs. He takes up a spot beside you, his large hand finding your own immediately. You lean against him, his skin warm and comforting against the arctic weather.

"I'm thinking," you hum, playing with his fingers. "I couldn't sleep."

This pulls a soft sigh from Techno. He presses a soft kiss to your forehead, and you laugh at the gesture. "You should have woken me up," he rests his head against yours, looking into your soft and tired eyes. "you'll get sick out here."

You can feel the way his chest rumbles when he talks. It's comforting and gentle, lulling you back to sleep. But even as exhaustion washes over you it doesn't stop the painful thoughts ricocheting off the walls of your mind. Is this how Techno felt when the voices were acting up?

But the voices were more focused on blood and violence, on the instincts embedded deep inside the hybrid. The thoughts rattling your brain were like ghosts haunting the hallways of your consciousness. Asking why you were still here, telling you a jump from this height could kill you, making you acutely aware of just how sharp the sword you keep under the bed is.

In your haze of sorting out these thoughts from the static in your mind, you seemed to have missed a question from the man holding you. His free hand now rested on your cheek, and the one holding your hand had moved to grip your wrist. The contact kept you grounded.

"(Y/N), what are you thinking about?"

The question startles you for a second. Did he know? Were you talking out loud? Either way, the alarm in Techno's dark eyes said all you needed to know. You lean against his hand and close your eyes, adoring the warmth. In your delirium, you fail to stop the words from spilling out of your mouth.

"About my existence. Why I'm here." You can feel your mouth run dry. "If there's a way I can escape all the pointless noise." You feel Techno pull you forward. Too tired to fight it, you fell limply against his chest. There are loose tears flowing from your eyes.

"I'm so tired, Techno."

He shushes you softly, petting a few fingers through your hair. He whispers gentle affirmations to you, letting you sob against him while shivers rack through your form. When you finally calm yourself to the occasional sniffle, he pulls you to your feet and carefully leads you off the roof.
