I wanna say that touille likes Maggie beyond platonic but below romantic HEAR ME OUT!!!

see we all know touille is kind of….egotistical and the trash rodent we all know and love (if you love ) , and we all know the iconic food inhaler Maggieeee Makoooo :0 >o<

but Despite both being the cute and silly FOODIEZZZZ >w< duo (TRASH COUNTS AS FOOD FOR TOUILLE AND IF ITS FOOD TO HIM WELL….THEN ITS FOOD TO HIM >:3) anyways they have different personalities, Maggie is just a cute silly sweet heart and Touille is just…well… Touille in the most Touille way possible let’s just say he’s his own person (or rat for that matter ) my point is that there not like each other at all however they always hang out together most of the time and they don’t seem to mind each other at all but of course touille acts like he doesn’t care or he acts like it doesn’t effect him in the middle of his floofy chest within beats a heart that tells a different story

and touille has some kind of feelings towards Maggie HEAR ME OUT ONCE AGAIN: since touille is a trash rodent this could mean he’s insecure and maybe afraid of judge meant along with the fact that maybe (another head canon) he was abandoned and thrown out like trash so maybe he believes it’s cruel to throw stuff out and never look back like what happened to him (otherwise he just doesn’t care and eats trash bc he a nightmare critter and thats just him ) but if he was abandoned it would make more sense for him to be egotistical witch is why he secretly enjoys Maggie mako’s company and since there both foodiezzz to him shes pleasant to be around in his eyes and he knows she won’t judge him at all wile also being kind of afraid of her bc well…mako sharkzzzz 0w0 and hes a rat so that also makes sense , and shes cute and silly and since according to his cannon description he’s talkative Maggie seems like the type to listen to him but have nothing to say bc she’s always thinking about her belly and Touille can relate, and shes also genuinely so sweet and generous she’d probably make him a cheese cake he’ll reject to the point where she has to shove in his face and Ik for a facts he’ll pretend not to like bc it’s not trash but secretly love it well…mostly the gesture bc he looks in the trash everywhere so it’s rare to have someone hand something to him without searching

Maggie would probably defend Touille and protect him bc NO ONE MESSES WITH HER FULL TIME SNACK BUDDY AND LITTLE FELLA

so over all Touille has feelings for Maggie maybe shes his favorite next to Poe compared to the other critters, but not romantic feelings (not yet at least) bc touille doesn't know how love feels like and even if he saw her that way it would probably be one sided bc when Maggie’s alone wouldn’t think of him that much anyway (or will she?…)

over all I think there a good duo and they can be funny and entertaining to watch them interact

personally im mentally debilitating on whether if I should ship them or not tbh i thnik it would be a funny ship but at the same time low-key wild bc rat with shark

I have multiple fav ships from different shows but if you mean nightmare critters my fav ship is Baba Chops x Poe

I just think it’s a really cute , funny and silly ship >w< and I just feel like it works out the best Poe and Baba have a lot in common it’s cute they could be at miss delight’s preschool in the reading corner baba could be there just chilling trying to calm her anxiety (bc she’s antisocial) and idk sleep on the pillows and coincidentally Poe is on his way and finds her there and they could just sit next to her and talk and observe things about each other.
