“How adorable.” Odessa said from a few feet away, arms crossed over her chest and sarcasm lacing her words. “Who knew muggle studies would actually come in handy.” Not that she thought this was actually useful. She raised a brow as she looked at her cousin entertaining what she assumed was a muggle child. Of course, she didn’t care that the boy would pick up on the unknown words – he wouldn’t understand them anyway. 

“Odessa.” Reagan had to refrain from rolling her eyes at her cousin, she should have known that a confrontation between the two of them would bound to happen eventually. Taking a nervous glance at the boy, she ruffled his hair with a forced smile in an attempt to reassure him and not give the impression of something being wrong. “Now you try and work on the next one while I just talk to my friend here. It’s okay, I’ll be back in a few to see how you’re doing.” Her words were quiet only meant for his ears. Standing up she closed the distance between the two of them and wrapped her hand around the other witch’s elbow, applying a little force to lead her away. “Not here.” The words were more of a hiss. “What is you’re problem?”

Kieran stood in the doorway watching the two of them and he couldn’t help the smile that grew on his lips. After a few moments, he stepped further into the room and cleared his throat. “So you’re a part time tutor?” He asked, an amused smile coming to his lips as he moved over towards Jacob and ruffled his hair a little. “How’re you, kid?” He asked, smiling down at the boy.

“What can I say, I’m a woman of many talents.” She shrugged her shoulders and gave a small smile, feeling a little awkward at having been caught. Her eyes followed his movements as she watched him interact with the boy, her brows furrowing a little in confusion. “You two know each other?” She wasn’t sure whether her question was directed towards the doctor or her young friend she’d spent the afternoon helping.

The male couldn’t hold back the tears as he felt her hand on his shoulder. He didn’t think he’d ever see her again and yet here she was. He swallowed the lump in his throat nodding as he tried to blink back the tears. “T-They told me you were dead.” His voice was shaky, giving away all his emotions. He wanted to pull her into a hug but there was something that was holding him back. Spencer shook his head. “I-I’m fine.” 

Seeing the tears in his eyes, told her just how real this whole situation was and she couldn’t help but wonder the sort of evil her family had fed him in order to keep them away. After all the letters that she’d received on behalf of him was words of hate and demands of her staying away. She moved her hand up to her mouth covering it in shock as she stared at him with wide eyes. “No. No, Spencer. Of course I wasn’t dead. I got out. I wanted to come back for you but they told me you never wanted to see me again, that you wanted nothing to do with me.” Tears began to fill her own eyes as she realised just how much hatred her father really held.

An amused smile made its way onto the wizards lips as he listened to her talk. “Modest too, I see.” He commented, his eyes meeting hers. He brought his glass to his lips, taking a long sip. “Then I suppose I’m lucky to have caught you while you’re alone.”

“What can I say, I know who I am. I’m happy with who I am. But yes, you are lucky.” Reagan replied with a smile as she shrugged her shoulder as she brought the glass to her lips to take a quick sip. “Thanks for the drink by the way. So what brings you here, Doc?”

“You know,” he started, sliding into the booth. “The hospital is a lot quieter without you around.” He placed the two glasses on the table – one for her and the other for himself. “Who’d have thought I would miss it?”

“Well, how could you not?” She teased as she looked up at him with a smile. Though she was slightly surprised at seeing the Doctor, not expecting his appearance. “Have you not heard that my company and personality is just renowned around here? I’m a highly sort after person, I’ll have you know.”

Spencer was beginning to get fed up of the same four walls. He was bored of just sitting in a bed for most of the day - he never was good at sitting still. It probably would of helped if he had company to fill his time, he had the odd visit from his friends and cousin when they could get to him, but they had their own lives and their own issues that was consuming their time. The only downside of all the spare time he had was that it left his mind to wander. He found himself thinking of things that he’d rather not think about … His father, Andrew, his family, the war and everything else that was causing stress in his life. He was only dragged from his thoughts when he heard an old nickname, one that he hadn’t ever expected to hear ever again. Spencer looked up shocked, meeting his sister’s gaze. His brows furrowed in confusion as he felt his heart jump in his chest. He could feel his eyes welling up as he pushed himself up, trying to get to his feet. The male ignored the pain and the cries of his body. Biting down on his lip he tried to suppress the cry of pain that was threatening to spill from his lips. “Reagan?” He asked confused. Was it possible he was seeing things, she couldn’t be alive - could she? “You’re alive.” He stated baffled.

Reagen made to move fully into her room, fighting her self control to rush over to him and pull him into a hug. It was only as his words registered in her mind that she froze in her spot. “Alive? Of-- of course I’m alive.” She stuttered out shocked. “You-- thought I was dead?” Her voice came out in almost a whisper, not understanding what would have made him have that impression. As she realised he was trying to get out of bed, she finally forced her body to move and made her way over to him quickly. “Hey, you need to rest.” She placed her hand on his shoulder gently to stop him from moving. 

It had been a few hours since the healer that Reagan had been pathetically perverting over and flirting awfully, had informed her that he was here and ever since she had been trying to find several excuses to put this visit off. She knew that it needed to happen, just to put her mind at ease to insure that he was okay, but she was terrified. She was scared that he would reject her and hate her for leaving him there. Stood outside his door, Reagan closed her eyes for a moment trying to build up the courage to open his hospital room door. Slowly pushing it open, she carefully poked her head around the door to see if he was awake. “Pipsqueek?” His old nickname fell from her lips in an almost timid manner. 

“Not many of them around here, but you’ll be surprised how many you come across in bigger towns and cities.” Kieran informed her with a smile. “People are a bit of the opposite here. They’d rather risk injuring themselves more. Mr. Green down the hall doesn’t understand the phrase ‘bed rest’. And Spinnet can’t wait to be out of this place and they’re both worse off for it.” He shook his head, clearly frustrated by the amount of patients who were just prolonging their time in the hospital with their own stupidity. “And that’s only a couple of them.” Of course, he wasn’t actually treating Spencer due to shortage in supplies, but he liked to check up on every wizard in the ward – even the Death Eaters. He was not about to let someone suffer under his care and calming pain via spells were always effective and not in short supply. “We’re in need of more hands now than any other time.” He shrugged. “But you need your own time to rest.” He offered a smile. He had only been joking, after all. Kieran simply chuckled and shook his head at her comment – he truthfully had no reply for that. Meeting her gaze again, he replied. “I suppose you’ll have to find another, less painful reason to come by.”

Reagan raised her brows, "Really? I bet you come across some interesting people." She mused tilting her head. "Wait... Mr. Green? You have a Mr. Green here? What's his first name?" She asked wondering if it was one of her family members. "Well if you ever need help with anything other than healing potions I don't mind lending a hand, I mean, that gives me my way in without having to injure myself." She half joked with a laugh.

A laugh left his lips in response to the brunette’s comment. “Well, most people wouldn’t, but there’s always the odd chance.” He shrugged. “But, no. I spend enough time in here as it is.” He mentioned. Kieran also knew that there were many people stuck here who weren’t able to walk out that door yet, even if they wanted to. He chuckled at her next comment. “Unless you’re offering help…” He trailed off, shaking his head. “Just make sure you’re resting, whether it’s here or at home, after your shower.” He told her, turning around shortly after she had retrieved her shirt – making sure to give her enough time to put it on. But he turned in time to see her struggle and wince as her shirt fell into place. “It’s hard to believe, but many of my patients like their privacy after the hard work is done. It’s courtesy.” He smiled, meeting her gaze. “And, please, make sure you don’t overdo it. You don’t want to end up back here.” 

"True, I suppose. Have you ever actually treated a hypochondriac?" Reagan asked curious to the type of people he'd had to treat. She gave a light laugh nodding her head, "Exactly." The brunette pursed her lips, swinging her legs back and forth as if she was considering it. "I think I'll pass. I mean, even if I wanted to help - which I don't - I'm not sure you'd want it yourself." She gave another laugh at the thought. Nodding, she gave the male a salute. "Whatever you say doc." Reagan replied winked at him. "How very boring of them." A mischievous smile laced her lips. "But how will I ever see your handsome face again?"

Kieran placed his equipment back on the cart at the side of the room, not too far from her place on the bed, and he listened to the woman as she searched for her shirt. “Luckily, your wounds aren’t serious, so you’re free to go whenever you like. If you feel you would like to stay for an hour or two just in case, you’re welcome to do that, too.” Though he had given her the check, he didn’t look back so as to not further invade her privacy. His gaze flickered to the side and caught a glimpse of the woman’s shirt. “I believe you left your shirt over here.” He said, gaze focused on the cart once again.

“You think that if I’m given the option to leave, that I’ll stay?” She asked with a raised brow. “Would you if the roles happened to be reversed? Look, Doc if you want me to stay, just say so.” She teased smirking, watching him avoid looking at her. “I’m sure a nice hot shower will help with whatever wounds I have left rather than me just sitting on this bed twiddling my thumbs.” Seeing her shirt was indeed where he indicated to, Reagan jumped down from the bed and walked over to grab it. “Why so reserved now? I mean you’ve already seen me half naked.” She questioned while pulling the material over her head and wincing slightly as her muscles stretched in protest.

“It’s hard to believe a word anyone says these days— I hope you understand.”

“Seriously? The thing you’re gonna find distrusting is me saying that I’m not pitying you? Wow, you really do have some major trust issues. Look, I’ve no reason to pity you when I’m in the same situation. I empathise with you, yes. I’ve got better things to do than sit around pitying you.”

     “Your pity isn’t needed.” Gwenog spat at the other, leaning back against the wall she sat by, staring at the other with empty, tired eyes.

“What makes you think I’m pitying you? We’re all in the same boat. Some worse than others”

“I wish I did but I’m coming up blank at the moment. Everything I have though of is too risky.” 

“Risky might be what we need. If we’ve got no other plans then risky might be our only way out of this. Risky is better than nothing at all because I really don’t want to die here.”

Hayden shrugged. “All of the above… Maybe more. If I’m honest I don’t want to hang around to find out.”

“You say that like you have a plan. Is it one you care to share?”
