Letting y'all have a snippet of Day 8 (Face-sitting) of kinktober! I was so close to having another kinktober fic under 3k, and then, well, as usually happens with my writing, it got pretty angsty. It's almost 4k now. 💀 The snippet is sfw this week though so I'll be putting it in the actual post rather than below the cut!

You collapse onto the floor, holding your arms around yourself and letting the tears fall down your face. The sound of hurried shuffling echoes in the bedroom and it's only a moment before you see the shadows from two pairs of feet under the edge of the bathroom door. The knob jiggles, you hear a sigh that sounds like Eddie, and then there's a polite knock on the door. "Darling, will you please let us in? We should talk about this," Volt says calmly—much more calmly than you think he feels. You sniffle and wrap your arms tighter around yourself, shivering on the tile. "Why?" You warble. "So I can ruin your lives some more?"

Poor live wire. They didn't actually do anything wrong. They're just catastrophizing because Volt let slip something he shouldn't have. 🫂

I just love sharing these snippets with y'all from Eddie's bull wreck 💜💜

I'm starting to space the timeline out a little more - jumping from waking up to discharge to jumping around healing because I realized the outcome I want for this (and because I have the perfect final line in mind for this 👀🥰) doesn't make as much sense right away and more as a resulting outcome from this journey!

Picks up after my last WIP Wednesday!

Twenty-two-thousand-two-hundred-fifty-three-point-four-oh. Eddie's eyes flutter open, and he groans softly, shutting them against the light of the hospital room. Volt watches him wake up, small, thin smile on his lips as he fumbles the controls for the lights, dimming them to a more comfortable level. He then reaches over, resting his hand over Eddie's on the scratchy hospital blanket. Twenty-two-thousand-two-hundred-fifty-six-point-two-one. "Hey, wildfire." Eddie's eyes open again, looking over at Volt with bleary eyes. Twenty-two-thousand-two-hundred-fifty-nine-point-six-two. "Angel," Eddie replies, voice dry from hospital air. Volt smiles, maneuvering his hand under Eddie's, lifting it to his lips, dropping a small, fleeting kiss to the work-rough knuckles. "How do you feel?" Soft lips move against rough skin as Volt whispers into the dark, pulling back from Eddie's hand. "Like I got hit by a truck." A soft smile on Volt's lips. "Not that far off, at least." Three-hundred-sixty-seven-thousand-eight-hundred-fifty-nine-point-nine-seven. Eddie is discharged under Volt's supervision with a wheelchair to use at first, a prescription for crutches, a cane, and multiple medications, and a discharge pamphlet the width of Volt's pinky finger that details out plan of care while he recovers.

Honestly I've just been posting like. Everything I've written for this so when I post it to wildflower, nothing is gonna really be new to anyone

Chapter 37 of Dividing Lines is up (can't believe we're reaching the end here), co-written by the wonderful @lgwilt.

The Founder turned towards the control panel, typing away at the keys. “There’s nothing in nature that can’t be improved on by science. I wouldn’t expect you to understand. Magic,” he scoffed, shaking his head. “Magic is chaotic and unpredictable. Time can’t be tamed by cheap conjuring tricks; the only true god is the one who can command technology.”

Through gritted teeth, Loki let out a cold laugh. “Your variant got tired of being a god. Apparently not everyone is built for it.”

Anger blazed in the Founder’s eyes. “My forebear was old, weak, and lazy. I am superior in every way. Where he failed, I will succeed, ushering in a new era of peace and stability.”

 “I would hardly call the elimination of free will peace.”

“And here I thought you were intelligent,” said the Founder dismissively. “Free will – lovely idea; doesn’t work in reality. What most people don’t care to admit is that they’re terrified of choice because then they won’t have someone else to blame for their mistakes. You know this. What was it you once said? ‘Deep down we all crave subjugation’.” The Founder smiled. “Were you speaking from experience?”

Vee sighed, rubbing her forehead. "In English, Obie…" It was pitch dark, in the middle of the night, but he was peering though a specialized spyglass, his thick glasses pushed on top of his head. With a huff of mild exasperation, he carefully folded the device and tucked it into his pocket.

"Casey was right," he said, fixing his spectacles back in place as he looked at her. "That ship is headed right for us."

this thing is really starting to get away from me 🙈 it is nothing like either source material atp, but hey, im still having fun so hopefully inspiration will stay w me til i get this nonsense finished

“Someone's in trouble,” Phoenicia said with a sly grin.

“I'm not in trouble,” you mumbled back.

“Sure, honey,” Dolly said. “Best of luck to ya.”

“Let us know how it goes,” Betty said with a little wink.

“C’mon, guys, let them have their privacy,” Skylar said.

“That's rich coming from the one who gets to watch,” Ben-hwa teased. Skylar flushed bright red.

“I don't… It’s not like that,” she mumbled. Ben-hwa laughed.

Lil nervous about this since it's the first time I'm writing dialogue from characters that aren't the main focus of the story but I think it's kinda charming.
