There is a very noticeable overlap between former Black Butler enjoyers and current Hazbin fans
Got nostalgic and wanted to draw smth from my old fandoms. My shayla Lizzie hehe. Enjoyed to draw her a lot!
This is them
This tweet from Yana-san is 9 years old and it's still pure gold to this day. π
A PC repair tech came into my workplace, which is absolutely overflowing with Black Butler merch. When they asked me, "Do you like Black Butler? My daughter is a fan too," it felt so awkward/painful to just answer, "Yes... I'm a huge fan."

my headcanon is that lizzie put the eyepatch on bitter rabbit, but i gotta admit its funnier if it was ciels idea. you know what children need? merch of my fursona
I feel your frustration in the tags π© i am TIRED of the writing in these chapters lately!!
Ehhh, it is partially frustration but moreso it's just kind of like... yeah, tired is the right word for it. This is pretty par for the course for Yana to drag things out, make it seem like something's happening when really nothing is, forget the themes of her own story, prioritize side characters over main ones, and avoid interesting confrontations/moments of reckoning. And if she's really feeling uninvested, I wish we hadn't spent the past six years unraveling things so slowly and just got to the important bits. The servant backstories in themselves weren't a bad idea, but the way she told them was unnecessarily drawn out.
And I am still kinda disappointed that Ciel and Sebastian are just investigating as themselves. I really wanted them to have to go undercover and work hard on what may well be their last "mission" together. Instead, all they've had to do is go to a fancy hotel, walk around a pier, eat dinner, and listen to people talk about themselves. I do imagine the stakes will get higher soon, but ugh, right now it's so uninteresting! And did we really need a whole year to get to this point? It just strikes me as time and pages so misused.
Yana is a professional with a professional team who should be helping her nip and tuck her story into something palatable; something that can be enjoyed both when read month-to-month and all at once. But I guess this is the sort of problem you'll inevitably come to when the industry is more invested in throwing things at the wall to see what sticks than it is in lifting up talented storytellers.
