the BLINDING difference in clothing quality between even the 1990s and the mid-2000s...not even going in to the decline in quality of clothing made in natural fibers (jeans with elastane, i'm looking at you), I've got faux-leather trousers from 1980s that are in near-mint condition, even after being hired and worn repeatedly for the past 40 years. we get donations of clothing that shows and films have bought online for contemporary shows that are disintegrating after being used on one show, for like....10 days, max.

don't even get me started on the seam allowances we used to get in clothes, because the assumption was you'd alter it at some point...

you have hunger, sleep and thirst bars, normal, expected, but then you also have a stress bar that is affected both by what you do and the other bars

and an energy/"spoons" bar that is basically defined randomly by each day but can be increased or decreased if you don’t manage the other ones and you use this one to do basically any task. if you push yourself too far from the bar's limit you lose the day because you have to rest, and if you weren't on top of the hunger and thirst bars then you're gonna have worse spoons tomorrow AND a higher hunger and thirst level

if you can be on top of the first three bars every day you get a streak where your stress bar fills up less, but there's story events that force you to use spoons in a way that makes you pick between not eating or not getting something really important done, basically forcing you to end the streak or deal with the consequences
