Anna and mikuru receive a letter from Mayor Banda of Jieito Island asking for help. A great prophecy passed down in the island for generations is about to be fulfilled of a fairy who caused mischief and stealing manju which will then steal the island making it disappear for good. So it's up to our star detectives to crack the case! 💜Surprise surprise this was yet another fun episode that takes a break from the serious storytelling mysteries similar to episode 19. Obviously the main highlights of this episode was the mystery of the fairy causing mischief around the island only to be revealed that it was jett this whole time! It turns out that Jett came on the island 120 years ago a during storm, and the villagers of the island help him rebuild his boat. Jett cutting down trees and drawing blueprints on the walls was Jett planning to the leave the island. It was a pretty easy mystery but like I said it was very fun, the silhouettes of the fairy looked exactly like jett. The turtle from the pond stating that the island has never disappeared and it stayed the same. Not only that the biggest elephant in the room was the name Jieito named after jet, instead of the Manju name based off of their popular delicacy.

🔎Side Note 1: I like how just like in real life some stories of folklore and legends changed over the generations. It makes you wonder which interpretation of the story is real or made up as time passes. Similar to how in places around the world we have different stories of the same character with a different folk tale based off the culture of that location.

🩷With that mystery solved, one more mystery is left of who caused the manju to disappear, along with the other pranks in the island. The true culprit is Aki, mayor Banda's oldest granddaughter. The evidence was really clear and straight to the point as only a child can sneak through the entrance of the locked cabin through that window on the wall while also leaving visible footprints that are not of a fairy. The reason Aki did all this was because she felt bad for her sister. Koharu accidentally broke her watch as it was a memento she holds dear to her. A clear target with the Makoto Jewel inside. While the highlights of this episode was the reveal of jet being the mysterious fairy, I do like the mystery of the missing manju along with the weird pranks caused by Aki. Aki lied to make her sister happy by using the prophecy to help Koharu feel better that the fairy would fix everything. It shows a lie has good intentions, but it's not good to keep the lie for so long as it grows distrust. Thankfully koharu forgives Aki with a touching moment of jet fixing the watch. It's a great moment with a really good lesson for the audience. 🔎Side Note 2: Not gonna lie I really was hoping for Shushutan to make an appearance this episode as the mystery fairy, but a dreamer can only dream.

🖤Nijee is our Phantom Thief for this episode and unfortunately he already has bad luck would not control the glider diving in the ocean. But because he's such a smooth criminal he's just dripping with enthusiasm (Hahaha 🤣) to steal the Makoto Jewel from the watch making a watch haninda. I love that haninda's copy the mannerisms and personality of the Phantom Thieves it's a really cute detail. And I love how the monster copies the transformation sequence of the cures with mikuru pouting stating the haninda stole their whole flow word for word bar for bar! Nothing much to say about the fight scene because overall it was really good and I like that we get to see your answer use answer attack and gold star sword. 🔎Side Note 3: I like how mikuru is so excited for this entire trip to solve an island mystery, and disappointed she didn't get to solve an inclose room mystery. Don't worry Mikuru you'll get your cabin mystery sooner or later!

🩵The episode ends with jet having his fairy identity revealed thanks to my worst enemy the seagull. However Aki and Koharu keep the secret safe as they now see that the fairy of the prophecy is true, making a new friend with the memory of the watch they'll hold dearly till the end of time.

⭐Overall a simple but adventurous episode but I really enjoyed a lot. Yet another gold star case closed! But of course there is no time to waste. As the next episode is the start of a brand new arc. It is one of the biggest mysteries of the season, an unsolvable case long foreshadowed since episode 13 that even I didn't even want to spoil to keep the mystery going. A theory that has been boggling my mind (and ruined me) since the start of star Detective with one singular question. And that question is-

💜Anna and Mikuru are on a class vacation when Goemon makes his move to steal Yumi's vacation guide where the Makoto Jewel is hidden. Goemon uses his trick maze ability to turn a train into a mystery maze of unsolvable cases as the clock ticks down! You already know how I feel about goemon but if you couldn't tell I love this man with every fiber of my being. As stated multiple times he always puts up a challenge for the cures in his escape rooms to challenge the cures. At that point he's not even trying to be a thief he just wants people to enjoy his puzzles and I'm all for it. He's the only thief that does treat his job seriously but wants to make it fun in the process.

💫On a side note is actually pretty funny when I think about it because just like as mikuru and Anna are going on vacation, me myself just came back from vacation with my family. How the tables parallel one another. The only difference is I hate jet lag.

🩷Goemon's back and forth banter with Anna and mikuru made me laugh. The entire exchange between Goemon and Anna is the meme equivalent "Nu-Uh.", "The F you mean nu-uh?!"

Even when he is trying to hide from Anna Mikuru they can easily find him, it'd be the funniest part of their interactions when the episode focuses on him stealing the Makoto Jewel.

🖤As for the train mystery, it was also very fun! Well it is only two mysteries, my favorite of the two is the missing pocket watch. I really like the examination of the window and timing of day to pinpoint the culprit. I also like how all of the train NPCs have these visible circular eyes with one facial expression that only move with their Motes being happiness, disappointment or concern.

🩵The fight sequence against the haninda is no surprise the highlight of this episode. Both the star detectives and goemon are trying their best not to fall off the train and growing concern for one another, but for going on he's more annoyed that the star detectives are concerned for him since he tries to act high and mighty on standing on the train. Even the haninda isn't safe. Poor thing fell off the train without even looking, luckily the monster has the ability to fly using the pages of the book leading to a comical hug with goemon as if reunited with loved one. ⭐Overall much similar to the Detective Conan crossover this was an overall great episode that left me entertained from beginning to end!I do think the episode could have benefited from a two-parter with Anna and Mikado solving cases on their vacation, but it doesn't matter.I think it was great to see them relax and enjoy themselves away a serious plot line to something more engaging and full of fun twists and turns.

All that being said, this is a gold star case closed!

Summary

Dessert Town is home to the Dessert Teeniepings. They create scrumptious pastries and delicious desserts all across Emotions Kingdom! But this peace doesn't last as the mischievous Puffping steals the magic sugar ball, leaving Dessert Town in disarray causing the dessert teenieping to be forced out of their home and into Earth. The Royal Dessert Teeniepings; Shashaping, Jellyping and Fluffyping heed the call of the SugarBerry Compact in search of Romi and Heartsping so that they can collect all 15 dessert teeniepings from causing chaos in Harmony Town, and return the sugar ball from Puffping.

🍓Right off the bat dessert catch is a major improvement from Secret Catch. While I am going to discuss my issues with this season a lot of those issues are outweighed by a lot of the good that makes dessert catch a step in the right direction. For starters I really love the design of the dessert teeniepings! All of them have their own unique dessert flavors named after them and their abilities are not typically grounded, much like the Teeniepings of the past seasons makes it difficult to catch them. Also I love the color coordination with a much more darker colors of browns, oranges, and warm greys that make up a lot of desserts being multicolored. 🍰Side Note 1: Not a fan of the sugar shield the dessert teeniepings use. Way too similar to the same functions as the key teeniepings. However, much like the heart wing bow, the sugar prism shot is animated beautifully. Reminds me of the heart juice mixer in Delicious Party Precure.

🍡The royal teeniepings of this season are a major step up as well! Jellyping is a sassy prankster that makes me chuckle. She reminds me of Teeheeping with extra steps. Shashaping has the best character development of the three, while trying to keep sane from all the shenanigans that happened throughout the show. And Fluffyping (my goat!) whose trying her best despite causing 1/3 of the problems by not paying attention, but she always makes up for it for her perseverance and I root for her every step of the way! 🍰Side note 2: It's a shame that they never got their final goodbye to Romi face to face, it's just a postcard that they just sent to her. That made me sour but I still love them regardless!

🍧The only downside towards the dessert teeniepings was the dessert theme of the season. We learn the magic sugar ball being taken away from Dessert Town effects the desserts of Emotions Kingdom and Earth tasting rotting and weird. Which is cool because their fairies of emotions connected to desserts we make to express ourselves through cooking. This puts both worlds in jeopardy heightening the stakes, but we never saw the repercussions of this outcome to the desserts of both worlds only Dessert Town. Not to mention I really thought we were going to focus on the HeartRose Bakery this season. I was really looking forward to getting character development for Sarah, Ian, Kyle and Jun. 🍰Side Note 3: Especially when you consider Ian, Kyle and Jun are the only ones (aside from Marylou and Maya) that interact with the Teeniepings. They should know that Sarah and Romi aren't from earth so they should know the secret by now.

🍮As for the antagonist of this season, I really like Puffping! Much like Jenny he has a valid reason on becoming an antagonist. Puffping obsession with the magic sugar ball has a lot to do with his crippling loneliness and how he feels that the desert teeniepings don't pay him no attention. What's interesting is that each of the dessert fairies have their own little story arcs in their focus episodes where they too have an insecurity they must face to encourage themselves. Puffping getting corrupted by the magic sugar ball due to his obsession for companionship makes a solid antagonist, and makes his atonement all the more satisfying when Romi reaches out for for him accepting him as a friend.

🧇And speaking of friends Mary Lou and Maya barely appear in this season. You would think that they would put in more attention on being around Romi and helping her out on her adventures, but I guess not. Major miss opportunity greatly aligns with the whole puffping conflict about growing friendships and isolation, but I hope we get to see more of Mary Lou and Maya in the next season. 🍰Side Note 4: Speaking of friendship and isolation, Jenny returns to aid Romi in the fight against corrupt Puffping! While I'm not a fan of the white Princess Labyrinth outfit, it's great seeing her again along with Onlyping! I wish she was in the story alittle bit longer.

🎂And much like secret catch, we also have not one but two legendary teeny pings the duo dessert Tangyping and Sweetping! Their storyline is solid as both characters are the reason why the magic sugar ball was taken so easily because of their bickering and arguments their magic barrier broke leading to Puffping to take the sugar ball, and having both teenieping be trapped in their respective houses causing a rift to break apart dessert town. Shashaping has her golden moment reprimanding the Tangy and Sweet for not caring about Dessert Town, their anger towards one another is breaking Dessert Town apart and not focusing on keeping its citizens safe. This leads to the penultimate moment where Tangyping and Sweetping sacrifice themselves to try saving puffing in his monster form while also giving Romi the ability to transform into Princess Harmonious. Sweet and Tangy cared about saving puffping along with the safety of the dessert fairies, they both realized they disregard everyone's feelings needing to work together not fighting one another. Not going to lie I cried cuz I'm a sucker for these types of storylines.

🍨The major downside towards the sacrifice however is that sweet and tangy did come back through wibbly wobbly magic cuz why not. While I am happy that they are alive and well it does feel like they (writers) kind of robbed their sacrifice, and this isn't the first time either (looking at you Happyping). 🥞And lastly Romi and Heartsping. Not going to lie Romi and Heartsping didn't really do too much this season. I kind of forgot what their storyline was even about outside of the dessert fairies. Which is one of my major issues with the human characters with dessert catch, aside from the miss potential of HeartRose, Romi is kind of just there as the plot moves itself for her rather than her engage in it and gain some reflection at the end of each episode towards the situation with puffing and the magic sugar ball. Luckily the final episode helps amplify that as she doesn't really hate puffing because she wants to help puffing and tries to understand him.

👑As for the princess forms this season? They're great! My least favorite unfortunately is Princess BerryHeart, looks too similar to Floraheart. Princess Harmonious hands down is the best princess form along with Princess Jellystein and Sweetfloss. Both designs play well together in their colors and outfits that was eye catching!

🍭Overall I had a blast watching Dessert Catch! The filler episodes were engaging, the new characters are great! Most of all we get a hint at the end of the final episode where a teenieping in a spacesuit delivers the postcard from Dessert Town to Romi teasing for the star themed season, star catch!

Summary

After the events of Twinkle Catch!, Jenny uses the power of the royal magic book to head for Mystic Town, home to the mysterious Key Tennieping. Once Jenny let's the key teeniepings loose on Earth, the Royal Key Teeniepings; OkeyDokeyping, Trueping, and Nanaping rush to Romi and Heartpings for help to capture the 15 Key Teenieping and take back Mystic Town from Jenny who's searching for a secret beneath it's locked corridors. Remember when I said that I was excited for this season? Yeah.. that didn't last long. Let's start off with my issues with the season. 🩷Issue 1.) The filler episodes this season regarding the key teeniepings. Some of the episodes are fine as it mainly teaches the lesson of the day, but they all feel flat and not as interesting as last season. Not to mention the idea of having the key teeniepings hide in items was fun at first as we get to see Romi use Mystic Heart Wing Bow, but it gets very repetitive over time making the mystery or secret aspect of these fairies less interesting. The animation for the Heart Wing Bow is great btw.

❤️Issue 2.) The Royal Key Teeniepings were kind of a downgrade. They lacking interesting qualities that didn't peak my interest. Trueping is honest to a fault, but feels too much like Dadaping. OkeyDokeyping is cool (pun intented) and her princess for with Romi is my second favorite design of the three, but other than that OkeyDokeyping is sadly forgettable. Nanaping's the only fairy of the trio I have interest because she's abit more upbeat and rushes to trouble with excitement. Nanaping is not my favorite but she's fine to me. 🩵Issue 3.) The voice acting. I don't usually talk much about voice acting in my anime reviews but because I'm watching the English dub this season's dub wasn't great. A major downgrade and I'm guessing this has a lot to do with budgetary reasons with certain actors not coming back to reprise their roles. Their trying their best to give the best preformance as possible yet held back from the scripts dialouge. 🧡Issue 4.) Romi's story arc. It feels like Romi isn't actively trying to figure out the mystery of the the Key Teeniepings, and that's only because she knows the secret of what happened with Jenny's parents, but I wish that she moved the story forward and do some reflecting about her friendship with Jenny. How Romi could reflect on her issues on giving up magic at one point to live a normal life leaving Jenny lonely, or how she never thought about Jenny's feeling of isolation. Romi for this season is a flat character, it doesn't help that because each episode is 11 minute long we don't get much time to spend on her thoughts. Even Heartsping doesn't get much story activity as well. 💜Issue 5.) I wish Onlyping had more focus episodes and I wished Jenny had more influences to corrupt the key teeniepings making them difficult to catch for Romi. Oh, and the Raven Compact should have been foreshadowed in the royal magic book ealier. Yeah the more I talk about my issues with this season we would be here all day but there are bright spots to secret catch that I really enjoy.

🖤The final fight between Jenny and Romi is great. We learn from cat wizard Dr. Monziu at the end of Twinkle Catch that Jenny's parents use a forbidden spell to cure Jenny from a rar sickness, but at the cost of their life. Jenny coming to Mystic Town was trying to receive the Raven Compact and Mystic Key to collect all the key teeniepings, plus the legendary teenieping, to seek a wish granting door to bring her parents back to her. The entire final episode unexpectedly tugged on my heartstrings! All Jenny ever wanted was to be with her original family, but because she was so blindsided by her jealousy and angst towards Romi that she never considered romi's family to be her own, just her and Onlyping. Jenny is just a kid who's hurt and just wants feel welcomed. Not be an outsider to others. Romi being fully accepting of Jenny's frustrations because no matter what she'll always care for Jenny understanding her troubles, even letting Jenny see her parents one last time through the Mystic Gate to find closure. 🐦‍⬛And because we're still talking about Jenny can we all agree that her Princess Labyrinth form looks so good! The design just screams antagonistic magical girl Gothic Lolita princess. A way better design than the new three princess forms that we have this season. It's giving Arcana Shadow, and I am a Arcana Shadow fan.

🔐But that's not the only surprise! This season gives us the introduction of the legendary Teenieping, Luckyping AKA Box being our first showcase! Luckyping is a fun fourth addition with decent build up to her story arc (or lack thereof, but she's still cool!) Luckypings transformation with Romi to become Princess Twilight easily became one of my favorite princess designs of the season and it tells us that there's going to be way more legendary teeniepings in the future. 🔒Overall this season wasn't great, but it's not bad either. There's a lot to like about this season. Secret Catch is held back by creative writing decisions and storylines that could have been fleshed out a lot more to keep Secret Catch entertaining. Luckily the finale saved the season from a lower score. Must be the work of Luckpings magic!

Summary After the events of season 1, a mysterious mask teenieping (maskping) invades the Magical Jewel Forest transporting all the Jewel Teeniepings to Harmony Town. Royal trainee jewel fairies Teeheeping, Joahping, and Trustping head off with the jewel compact to Harmony Town to meet with Heartsping and Romi to capture the elusive 15 Jewel Teenieping.

🩷Twinkle catch is a great sequel, but it unapologetically flawed. It's an improvement from the first season as stated last post with updated animation and the story is entertaining with stakes! I enjoyed the trainee royal jewel teeniepings (that's a mouth full to say), all having their own story arcs that coincide with the supporting cast to help them with their issues especially. Joahping is my personal favorite growing confidence in herself to reconcile conflict and gaining the courage to transform with Romi. Teeheeping at second for the most memable faces, a fairy looking for attention and praise for good work even if she's full of herself. Trustping is alright, not my favorite but their trust in others to do better is cool, even if their attitude gave me a headache. 💜Even the princess forms have great designs with Princess Ruby being my favorite outfit out of the four. I also enjoy Heartsping story arc of being a mentor to the trainee fairies while bumping heads with Onlyping as they shared a rivalry in the past that's very strong now. Heartsping shined this season wanting to be the best teacher she can for the rest of the jewel teeniepings and risking it all to protect them and Romi. We also get more glimpses of her hidden powers Dadaping mention in season 1. 💛And as for our antagonist? Well it's pretty obvious that Maskping was Onlyping in the disguies and that her and Jenny were responsible for the events of season 1 having Happyping turn into Giggleping, and released the original Teeniepings on Earth as they are doing now with the jewel teenieping. Jenny's motivations is very solid to how she feel towards Romi. Although Jenny is a princess of the Emotions Kingdom, she is treated differently. Her parents have disappeared without any explanation leaving Onlyping as the only family she ever has growing up. She was jealous of Romi and this made her realize if she can't have anything she might as well break everything down to be the new princess of Emotions Kingdom. Needless to say this was the most story heavy season that greatly enhances the plot. 🩵Now for my issues. My first issue with this season is last minute lore. The magical jewel dragon being introduced very late into the season along with the royal magic book all felt like it should have been foreshadowed a few episodes earlier during the middle of the season, but because each episode is 11 minutes the writers have to cram in as much story as possible which for this season really bugs me. 💎My second issue with the season was the jewel teeniepingss and their connection to the jewel forest. The fairies function too similar to the original 40+ fairies that we were introduced in the first season, all feeling copied and pasted personalities with different gimmicks lacking impact. I really thought that the jewelry theme of this season would indicate that they have some special powers that connects them to the Magic Jewel Forest, but that isn't the case. Major miss potential right there. 🌟Overall this was a satisfying sequel from season 1! New characters are great and the writing for this season was really good! It really exceeded my expectations making me excited for secret catch!

🪄Summary🪄

Romi is girl living a double. To her friends she's the reliable classmate always looking out for others, bumps head with the mean girls in arguments and spends times working at her cousins bakery HeartRose. But her friends doesn't know that Romi has a secret. Romi is a princess! A magical princess from the Emotions KIngdom! Romi and her fairy companion Heartsping traveled to earth to find the elusive Teeniepings, fairies of human emotions causing chaos in Harmony Town. With the help of Heartsping and the four Royal Teeniepings, Romi uses the royal compact to trasnform into the five royal princessess to capture the teeniepings. Along her journey Romi meets with the mysterious Teenieping, Giggleping, whose after royal compact to cause more mayhem in Harmony Town using the power of the other teeniepings for mischief.

🩷Catch is a very fun season! Harmony town is is always bustling and has a great air of character surrounding its residence, and mishaps caused by the fairies of emotions. The Supporting Cast are very lively and present a nice lesson of the day to teach Romi and the audience, but also having a few focus episodes to get to know the characters a lot better. ☁️As for a main character Romi, she's a really cool protagonist always on the run chasing the Teenieping and dealing with her normal life at the HeartRose Bakery. She goes through a bit of a character arc of wanting to come back home to the Emotions Kingdom but over time realizing that she has to make a choice of staying in harmony town with her new friends. Of course, she stays in harmony town as we later learn in twinkle catch that she had to give up her magical powers so her secret can be kept. 🍀Romy's relationship with the royal teeniepings are all amusing as we get to see all of them have their own focus episodes to get to know them in their dynamic with the others. Charmping and Dadaping are easily my favorites with Heartsping coming at third being a reliable friend and close ally to Romi. The other 40+ teeniepings are based on human emotions and personalities that makes you smile to get to know them, and frustrated when they cause trouble. The best of both worlds of interesting fairies clashing with charisma! 📸The animation reminds me a lot of the first season of miraculous ladybug, but the big difference between miraculous ladybug and catch teenieping is the second season, twinkle catch, the animation is a lot more polished given more composition and shadows and depth to the character models, in adddition to extra details to the 3D architecture of Harmony Town. 🎤And finally the last thing that I really enjoyed from the season was the mini arc with giggleping. It was pretty obvious that giggleping was happyping in disguise, corrupted by an evil fruit. The overall story arc with Giggleping was wholesome as Giggleping is an antagonistic fairy out to out to cause major issues throughout Harmony Town. Their memories slowly coming back realizing the deeper bond they had for Romi, thinking Romi forgot about them when they disappeared, but Romi never stopped stopped looking for them even if they weren't Happyping. Romi always look for her friends no matter what obstacles may come her way. An overall good story arc! 🫧With all that being said here are two things that I wished they improved on throughout the season. First, the final battle with Egoping could have been a lot more interesting. The action sequence is great, but I wish Egoping was the antagonist of the second half of the season since her and another mysterious antagonistic force is responsible for Happyping turning evil, plus releasing the Tennieping to earth; which by the way Romi feels guilty thinking SHE let the Teenieping loose, hence why she's taking responsibility to find the Teenieping. Big missed opportunity right there to have a cool conflict between Romi and Egoping. And finally the princess forms, the outfits aren't great and the Princess Veronica form is a very bland design. The power-up for Princess Veronica is great to summon all teeniepings at once, but the dress design is lacking flare. Not to mention her hair style is a copy and paste of Princess Heart. Princess Melody is the only designs out of the six princess forms that I really liked most notably the designs for the hair and dress shoes. 🪄Overall a fun introduction to the Teenieping series and a great start to my watch along. 💜This crossover was super fun and well written! I like that conan showed off his detective prowess to Anna and Mikuru. I like how Conan is greatly impressed on Anna and Mikuru doing their own deductions and observations. Goes to show the girls are coming to be great detectives in their own right! I'm so proud of them 🥹.

All three balance each other other out is enjoyable to watch! I can see Conan being SUPER suspicious of the girls being precure. I mean, who wouldn't when he saw both of them disappeared in the invisible dome when the haninda fight took place. Nevertheless, conan playing his usual kid-self and masquerading his own mystery towards the precure cast of his true identity is a great way for viewers curious to watch the Detective Conan series.

🔎Side Note 1: I watched the English dub when I was a kid so when I saw Kogoro and Ran all I can say is "OMG it's Richard and Rachel~! I miss you guys 😭!"

🩷I fangirled seeing Kogoro, Ran and Conan together. It's just fun seeing characters from a show I haven't seen in a VERY LONG time. Kogoro being his usual self, the upfront and charismatic (albeit corny sometimes but I still like him) detective always looking for a good case. His suspicions of the haninda was funny only to reveal that in one of the cases before this current one it was just a suit actor he was chasing. Never change Kogoro, never change 🥰. And Ran straight up throwing hands against Nijee was the cherry on top! I love how protective she was to Mikuru as Ran used her martial arts to beat down Nijee as he tries to escape with the glass slipper. Shout out to Ran being the best supporting member on the case 🤗.

🔎Side Note 2: The Godzilla reference is great.

🖤The mystery of the Lost Midnight Collection was enjoyable from beginning to end! I loved the explanation of benzyl and ethanol being used to explain refractive index hiding the glass shoe. In addition to Conan accidently using Anna with the sleep dart, further explain the process of the chemicals left Jett speechless! He knows Anna is a great detective but he knows she's not THAT forward thinking on complex chemical information. Even Mikuru and Pochitan were too surprised gave me a chuckle 🤣! The culprit being Ms. Hosho was good too! The clear visual signs were there pointing to her involvement for Conan and the cures to piece everything together.

🔎Side Note 3: I'm glad Mikuru got more involvement in the case taking more on the lead while Anna was out cold. My girl deserve her flowers 💐!

🩵And finally the action sequences! Conan kicking the ball was great with a shocking (literally) impact frame left me speechless! Then Cure Answer and Cure Mystique do the same soccer technique with a pink magical ball sparked me with awe! The overall fight was great! Fluent animation along a fun fight scene that packed a punch! And seeing flying spectrum again is wonderful to end the fight.

🔎Side Note 4: I feel bad for Nijee getting hurt so much this episode. I don't know if it's sympathy or pure comedy. Either way, he's going to get chewed out by UsoNoir again for failing another mission.

🪽The only nitpick I have for this episode was our new character Misaki, the glassware artist for the collection. I wished we got her involved more on the case to express why this collection was important to her. My guess the reason she didn't have much to her speaking role this episode focusing on the crossover AND there were too many characters on screen to give enough screentime. Fingers crossed for Misaki's reappearance in future episodes outside the museum🤞🏼!

⭐Conclusion⭐

Overall I had a blast watching this episode! As a precure episode It's fast paced, well organized to make up a good mystery for everyone to be involved for fun interactions. I hope we get more screentime with Misaki in future episodes for her craft in glasswork. As a crossover episode I was entertained. It makes me want to rewatch Conan again. But as I look at the episode count for Conan... yeah it's going to be awhile, this is on pare with one piece 😅.

In the end another great episode! So until then, this was a gold star cased closed!

Episode 16

Episode 16 is where we meet another reoccurring character and cure eclair candidate Eliza! In this episode we see Eliza coming to curette agency for ideas for her new book, so she tags along with Anna and Mikuru to find a missing cat for their client.

💜Eliza is a rambunctious young lady who loves writing mystery novels. She's the polar opposite of Shiruku, Eliza is a bit over the top as we see in this episode trying to play as the cat to identify the missing feline. Meanwhile Anna and Mikuru are along for the ride saying how cute Eliza is wearing cat ears. Eliza teaches our star detectives about behavioral patterns and always look back on previous clues from eyewitness accounts to piece everything together. Eliza's by far yet another interesting candidate with the flair for The dramatics.

🩷And while that would be the case I previously talked about this on who would be the most to least likely to be Cure Eclair and I did put Eliza at the very bottom. Much like Shiruku she's easily a red herring mainly because she's a mystery novelist, has the qualities to be a detective but we can see that she's more passionate on writing the mystery rather than a sleuth always on the job. She would be more of another mentor and a big sister figure to Anna and Mikuru who they'll seek for advice when Eliza needs ideas for her novel for the most oblivious, if not wackiest of cases that will have deducible evidence to solve. Needless to say I like Eliza a lot, but I do believe she's not your eclair and even if she was I'd be happy with either conclusion as long as it has good buildup.

🖤As for the mystery this episode, you can make so many cat puns out of this storyline alone so I'll give it a plus on that. But it was still an interesting mystery as our star detectives try to figure out the location of the cat, so when speaking with their client they realize that the cat is hard to find because said cat got a haircut, making it hard to recognize the cat from the photo to what they look like after they got their haircut. One highlight I would give this episode is that I love how Jett is a part of this case helping the kid calm down by giving him some sweets and looking around town with him to find the cat to further the investigation. Jetts so cool man, matter of fact a good chunk of the supporting characters in the season are really cool and are way more fleshed out than the previous season! I also enjoy the one scene with Luluka chilling out with the cats at the quarry. She's a cat girl at heart and I have a head cannon that she would go to cat cafes if she's not busy with Phantom Thief activities just pointing that out there 🐈‍⬛🍦.

🩵This episodes haninda fight was great! The animation for the action sequence with the star detective cures was really fluent, and I like that because it matches with the personality of the monster being a cat collar, it manifests itself as a cat monster applying to those qualities which I find very hilarious, in addition to Ageseine yelling at the monster to get their head together, but because it's a cat it's just vibes not listening. As a cat owner this speaks to me on so many levels. Add this fight along with our Arcana Shadow tag teaming making it super fun to watch! Lastly we get a new sword attack from Cure Mystique, the mystique strike! Similar to Cure Answer, it's visually stunning giving Mystique a sleek sword with fast attacks in contrast to the much bigger sword Answer wields for a more heavier attack.

Overall a very fun and adventurous episode with the cat being saved at the end!

Episode 17

Episode 17 follows Anna feeling more homesick than ever. While Mikuru goes out to train with Pochitan, Anna meets with our cure eclair candidate Kurea noticing her distress, so Kurea goes to help Anna by making delicious desserts.

💜Let's talk about my favorite highlight of this episode: Kurea! Kurea is a baker at the local pastery shop and a cure eclair candidate that I put down to be the least likely to be the cure. While the past few episodes has Kurea made minimal appearances, episode 10 shows her baking skills to connect Moe holding special memories of macaroons from her mother Christine. This episodes continues this storytelling in the best way possible to add more depth to Kurea as a character! Kurea makes pasteries by identifying the a persons personality and interest using deductions skills creating a delicious cake to make the customer happy while at the same time getting to know the customer.

This episode has Kurea doing the same to Anna as they both make a cake based on Anna's moms favorite flavor, and in the meantime have Anna share her closed off feelings towards missing her mom greatly over the past couple of episodes.

🩷It is a heartwarming moment for Anna to yet again open her feelings about the situation she's placed in during the events of the show; missing her mom, the threat of UsoNoir, and trying to understand why Luluka does not want to come back to Curetto. This poor girl has been through the ringer, but that won't stop Anna. Star Detective is more about the themes of truth vs. lies, it's also about the precious memories, the mementoes of the past, we hold close to our hearts to cherish in the future. Anna has grown isolated, feeling out of place in 1999, but there are always people by her side (Mikuru, Pochitan and Jett) stepping up to lend her a hand when she's sad and becoming a detective cure to help others find their lost mementoes from the clutches of the Phantom Thieves Guild. Thanks to Kurea encouraging Anna, Anna realize she too must cherish her time with Mikuru and the others while she's still here in 1999 focusing on protecting the past by collecting the Makoto Jewels in order to preserve the safety of her mother in 2027. 🖤This overall was a great segment of the episode I really look back on throughout watching the show. It establish great characterization for Kurea on her candidacy for Cure Eclair AND developing Anna as a much fleshed out protagonist cure so far! I also gradually grew to like Kurea alot and I can't wait to see more of her in the up and coming episodes for the eclair arc!

With all that being said I do have one main issue I have with this episode; Mikuru.

🩵Mikuru is our secondary protagonist of the season, and the least developed of our duo detective cures so far in the show. Through the whole episode Mikuru is training to be a better protector for Anna, but if I'm being honest? I didn't really care for those scenes 🤷🏼‍♀️. I feel the writers are planning a major plot point for Mikuru revolving around her past and connections to why she wants to be a detective link to the cure jewel watch her grandmother gave her, so I hope that after Eclair arc ends we get to see Mikuru more involved in her own storyline. But on the other hand, i wished mikuru has more involvement in the story in the beginning alongside Anna and for herself. Aside from episode 5 and 6 with a few scenes for herself to reflect on the mysteries of the story, Mikuru never got a focus episode to get to know her. Sure she wants to be a detective and grew a strong friendship with Anna from their contrasting viewpoints, but I wish we got more of that contrasting personality between her and Anna instead of pit falling into the same personality type from Anna.

Not to mention, last episode has her interacting with Eliza alittle bit however it doesn't give Mikuru that push to gain some type of character development outside of detective advice from Eliza. Not only that, her new special attack appearing out of nowhere in the similar vain of cure answer; a new ability that appears out of no where without much characterization. Needless to say I still like Mikuru, I just wish the writers pushed more narrative focus for her in the show 😤.

⭐Overall I despite my gripes, I still like this episode! The action scene was cool and we get to see the curetto crew eat some delicious cake made by Anna to further her friendship with everyone, knowing she'll come home one day once she saves the past. Not only that I liked how we got more storytelling with Kurea to get to know her way better, furthering my vote for her to be cure eclair!

Finally I'm now fully caught in my star detective reviews... for now! Because I'm saving my next thoughts for an unexpected crossover where two detectives collide for the ultimate case! So until then, these cases are closed!
