I hate how “doesn’t have any friends” is considered a red flag by enough people it keeps already isolated folks even more isolated when “Has many friends but goes through them like napkins” is much more frequently a sign somethings a little off

This is especially true with adults. Like sure, if a kid that spends 8-10 hours a day stuck in the same room with 30 other kids monday to friday for about 12 years and still doesn’t make a single friend in that time, there’s probably something wrong (they may be bullied, neurodivergent, or disabled in a way that scares other kids away and that need to be acomodated for for example).

But with adults? That’s like a sad default for quite a lot of us. When we are in work, we don’t have a 10 minutes long break every hour to chat with people around us, we have shit to do and clients to deal with and deadlines to meet. Then after work there are chores, commuting, family business, pets, and other kinds of responsibilities that need our time and attention. Even when we have some time off, it’s not guaranteed that our friends do since not everyone works the same schedule or even lives in the same general area anymore. Making time to meet those dear few people we used to hang out with all the time is another commitment that we can only really stick to maybe once or twice a month. Or year. And eventually not at all, because our paths have just diverged too much over years.

So yeah, i would rather start a conversation with a fellow friendless person than with someone surrounded by dozens of people who can’t really stand each other, yet still stick around for some reason.

i hope you guys notice how ticketmaster is handling this in a way that turns the blame on taylor and her fans instead of their unreliable website and inability to do their job properly because they know taylor can't defend herself against them or release any sort of statement without putting the future of this tour and her entire career in jeopardy.

they know her hands are tied on this situation and are looking for a way to redirect the anger and disappointment to her. don't fall for it.

guys obviously this situation is very large and very multi-faceted. nobody on tumblr or twitter of all places is going to have the most perfect opinion on it. 1. let people vent 2. admit it when you don’t know what you’re talking about 3. be fucking nice to each other.

infighting and blaming taylor and each other is exactly what ticketmaster wants you to do. they’ve diverted the blame to taylor and now they’re looking for a bigger distraction so people stop talking about it. stay focused. ticketmaster is a highly illegal monopoly conglomerate that just scammed a whole lot of people. so keep your eyes on the prize. write to your representatives and ask them to investigate ticketmaster. spread the word, get other people involved.

swifties have done a lot of unhinged shit but i’ll be damned if we aren’t organized! if you want something to be done, you have to take real action, not just picking social media fights with other fans. so fuck it. buy that $8 check mark and impersonate ticketmaster to hell and back. drag them for filth where everyone can see it. fill up their twitter dms, fill up their support ticket queues. WRITE TO YOUR REPS. don’t stop talking about how badly ticketmaster fucked up. this was NOT our fault and this was NOT taylor’s fault, this was a failure of the american legal system and an extravagant show of greed from those who run ticketmaster.

John Malone’s Liberty Media owns 33% of Live Nation (TM’s parent company), which is the biggest stake of any shareholder. they hold all the cards. he’s also a known Republican and Trump supporter, and he’s famous for his aggressive takeovers and running his businesses through threats. this man has dominance over music AND it was all literally handed to him by the DOJ. this is so much bigger than Taylor.
