So he had busied himself with cooking spaghetti, preparing a salad as well as bread to help finish off the meal and have iced some wine for the two of them as soon as he got back. He had then set up a picnic blanket outside on the lawn, trying to make everything perfect for his boyfriend before he called him. “Jeeeeeeeeeesssse, hi darling. I did something embarrasing and didn’t know who to call. I slipped outside and I think I messed up my back. Could you come help me please? Im out front.”  He figured it would be enough to get the boy down.

It had been a long, tiring day for Jesse. The government piled work on top of work every couple of hours, and if it weren’t for Megan constantly convincing him to stay on task, he would’ve lost his marbles by the end of the day. It just felt so much better coming home and hanging up his lab coat on the rack by the door, slipping off his shoes and shoving them into the cubbies they kept in the front hall. “Gabriel?” He called out, a bit confused as to why the house felt so empty and silent, but within seconds he heard the familiar voice that belonged to his beloved. Panic rushed through him, was he hurt? Jesse ran towards the back door, following the trail of Gabe’s voice, and stepped out onto the garden expecting to see the worst case scenario but was only greeted by his dorky boyfriend who had gone out of his way to set up a picnic.
