So I noticed something while reading Deathly Hallows and I’m wondering if this is a plot hole or if anybody has a legitimate explanation.
So when Harry, Ron, and Hermione knock out those Death Eaters in the cafe on Tottenham Court Road, right after the wedding, Hermione tells the boys she’s never done a memory charm before, she just knows the theory.
BUT
Earlier in the book, while still at the Burrow, Hermione tells Harry that she modified her parents memory, so that they’ll be safe from Voldemort.
So I’m confused. Is there a different charm to modify memories, compared to completely erasing them? (That’s my only explanation.) Or is this a plot hole that Joanne missed? I NEED ANSWERS
Ok so about this one. There’s the memory charm obliviate that makes the person forget his memory. However in the book Hermione uses the false memory charm in her parents, making them remember a different past.
