You ‘ask’ us to self-label our NSFW blogs - pre-purge - as “explicit.”

You set up a process to toggle our blogs into a mode which cuts it off from the general search function.

We are then strongly encouraged to screen posts for malicious links or run the risk of being permanently deactivated.

Then 12/17 hits - The Great Purge - and now all the self-identified NSFW blogs are pariahs, wearing the proverbial Scarlet Letter in the shape of this silly conehead avatar.

Nevermind the fact that we’re trying to follow the new Terms of Service. Nevermind the fact that we NSFW, erotica types are the bulk of your actual, non-bot user base. Nevermind the fact there’s little to no recourse for us to follow yet another rules shift without being cast off into a darker corner of the net.

This is…well, it’s to be expected. It’s Tumblr, after all.

Hey Tumblr…this was NEVER about you. This has been, continues to be, and will still be about the community of diverse, amazing, wonderful human beings who used your platform to express their interests and desires in all forms. That you find elements of this expression inappropriate and worthy of silencing is a reflection of your perversions, not ours.

We will find other avenues of expressions. Your stock will continue to sink like a millstone. You will be broken up, shattered, shuttered in due course; an ignominious and well-deserved end, if ever there was one.

THEY will persist; you will not.

Shame on you.
