Races on Erid are kinda like mlp rules. Theres specific skills that certain eridians have. For example, Rocky’s pincer leg is a characteristic of his specific race. It also depends on the hardness scale of their carapace.

Different races of eridians also often have different cultures and various linguistic styles.

I really like to see Rocky as something like a worker bee. And southern. Cannot explain this, but his bossy little personality gives me the funny idea that he would be a blue collar southern if in Earth American terms lmao.

The place where Grace’s biodome is located is around Adrian’s hometown. It’s a hotspot for education and where a lot of thrums take place. There’s a lot of diversity of eridian cultures mixed together in that area, so Grace actually gets introduced to a lot of different kinds of eridians through his students.

There is a bit of a beauty standard on Erid lmao. It has to do with what level their stone shells are on the hardness scale. Imagine it similar to the idea that muscled and toned people are considered very attractive universally.

I like to think the sizing scale for eridians is the same as penguins. Like tallest is about 50 inches while smallest in species is 12 inches.

There are some cultures on Erid where eating is not considered something taboo to do around others (just something that should be done in private around trustees) and Rocky is part of that culture. Adrian is not.

Dancing is a very big part of all eridian culture!! When Rocky copied Grace’s dancing in the tunnel when they first met, he was excited because he saw the similarities in the movements and knew how to communicate that way!!!

Eridians have a big arts culture. They do a lot of opera-like storytelling. Or plays. A lot of it is drums and puppets and overlapping tones. it’s like a BIG thing. Grace had witness a play Once and it was thee most overwhelming thing he had ever experienced. It’s like a concert, bro came out 6 hours later with his ears ringing and felt like he just blacked out.

Selfishness is kinda a foreign concept to eridians purely because of their inability to understand relativity and abundant resources, but there is a culture of protectiveness towards privacy and things that are Theirs. There’s just more of a sense of sharing that way. Generosity is not a thing, just the option to give.

Rocky needing to be on Grace’s chest to watch him sleep is not a cultural thing. Eridians usually can watch others sleep while doing other things as long as they can keep a metaphorical ear out for their buddy. He is just clingy.

Because eridians can hear through walls, their houses are usually made out of stone, clay, or other hard materials like that. Soundproof is the only way to really get privacy.

In some cultures, eridians live in caves and borrows. There is quite an abundance of underground towns and villages on Erid.

While colors aren’t really a thing, textures are. Fashion, textiles, and even looks are dependent on texture. Like Rocky’s celebratory look. There are gritty paints and smooth garments that many eridians use to make their own styles.

Rocky being mostly nude is less of a cultural choice and more him being a little crazy. There are cultures tho on Erid where cultural nudity is normal. He’s just a little special from severe isolation.
