FatFic | Mutual Gainers on a Beach Trip
You and you're significant other get ready for a day on the beach. You're both quite big by now, so you try to get outdoors whenever you can, while you still can. You've got the routine down: pick a spot with good parking, because you won't stray too far from the car; pack a foldable chair for you to sit in, while your s/o takes the car boot; and bring a backpack that rivals the size of your stomach, packed to the brim with food for the day. Of course, that's not including the drinks & ice cream you bring, that goes into a seperate box to keep it cool, although you suspect it will be gone before it gets a chance to melt anyway. You're tempted to raid the fridge & pantry and bring everything you've got (there's no such thing as too much), you wouldn't want to come home to an empty fridge, so you settle on the essentials, and plan to hop into the grocery store for the rest.
With all the supplies in the car, it's time to get yourselves in. Your s/o takes the back row, although they require a bit more assistance to waddle there than you're both used to. Maybe they've gained a few extra pounds recently, they've always gained quite fast, or it's the extra weight you're carrying around that makes it harder to help them. Either way, they make it safely into the car, and you squeeze yourself into the driver's seat, belly touching the stirring wheel.
You start the car & start your trip, but you also start thinking: with how hard it was to get to the car, maybe stopping for groceries isn't the best idea. But, as you catch a glimpse of your s/o with a chocolate bar in their mouth, readily digging into the snacks you've brought, you have to buy more. Not only are you gonna run out before reaching your destination otherwise, but they just look so damn cute when they're eating. Luckily the store is usually quite fast, so you hand your s/o the grocery list, and instruct them to order everything for immediate pick-up.
When you get to the store, you already see an employee waiting next to a pile of grocery bags, but those can't be yours, you only ordered a thing or too. Nonetheless, the employee approaches your car once you've parked, and to your suprise says your name & order number. Alright, maybe they've got our bag waiting inside, you think, but the employee gesticulates to the huge pile of bags while asking if you need help with carrying them. You're about to protest when you hear a big gulp coming from the backseat, half embarresment and half greedy appetite, which instantly lets you know that this is, in fact, your order, it's just that your s/o got a bit more than planned.
The car now filled with bags and a nonetheless steadily declining amount of food, you finally head to the beach.
