Maybe you've addressed this before and I'm just being thick, but is there a particular reason you want to change creationists' minds? I'm a scientist, an astrophysicist to be exact, but also a Christian, which makes me a creationist under pretty much any definition. The other people you mentioned, like anti-vaccers or climate change deniers, could hurt others directly or indirectly by not taking certain actions, so I could understand wanting to change their minds. Why creationists, though?

There is an ongoing debate in America concerning whether science classes should be allowed to teach evolution, which is, y’know, the biggest idea in the history of biology. Discussing biology without evolution is like discussing language without grammar. Or, like discussing astrophysics without Edwin Hubble’s ideas.

The people who oppose the teaching of evolution call themselves “Creationists” so that is who I was talking about. I think that basing science curriculum on religion is a disservice to students and to the entire world, as those students will find it very difficult to join the scientific community if they have not been taught that the most fundamental ideas of biology are false.

You can be depressed and not feel sad or blue. Depression can also be a haze of sleepiness, distractedness/obsessiveness cycles, and a twinge of irritability that can be hard to recognize because you might already be a “fiery” person. It can feel like a lazy Sunday that keeps imposing itself for weeks or months.

America: our education system needs to improve!

American education: we need another standardized test and more homework!

Finland: actually, we became one of the worlds' best education systems by getting rid of homework and standardized tests - also, we pay our teachers better than you.

China: same

Belgium: same

American education: better make it two more standardized tests.
