Last night, Cookbook Club paid tribute to @anthonybourdain. There are no photos except this one, which only happens at the best parties. We toasted the man by roasting a chicken, making some kick-ass Mac and cheese and a warming black bean soup. The whole thing was finished off with Stilton and bourbon, because, as Bourdain says, “Fuck dessert.” (😆 Most of our club heartily disagrees, fwiw.) Finally finished this one by Liane Moriarty over the weekend! It took me a while to really get in to this one but, about halfway through the book when things really started going wrong, I could not tear my eyes away. Definitely recommended! Confession time: Neil Gaiman is one of my absolute favorites. Also, so is David Tennant. *swoon* so, when I saw that they were teaming up to bring a Good Omens adaptation to the world, this one moved to the top of the list! This sweet little rom-com novel is positively delightful, a great little side dish if your reading list has been a little heavy. Our HP-themed Cookbook Club was delayed a few weeks because #life. But we had a scrumptious feast in our own Great Hall last night and had to be practically rolled home. . . Everyone represented their houses (#gryffindor and #ravenclaw) as we feasted on Bourbon Roasted Pork Tenderloin, potatoes, carrots and a heavy dessert course of butterbeer cupcakes, pumpkin tart, ginger biscuits and chocolate frogs. Toasts were made to Dobby and all of our dear departed with Pumpkin Juice Mimosas. It was perfectly magical. . .
