Unless Evil's Carrying the Martini Tray, Darling.

  Normally, social gatherings were Sadie’s forte. Why, she could mix and mingle with the best of them--living or otherwise. But this particular evening, at this particular event, was proving so far to be dreadfully dull. In hindsight, the name of the event really should have tipped her off. Nothing with the word ‘memorial’ in its name was ever really entertaining, in her experience. 

  But perhaps the evening would get better as it went on. Frank had taken over for the lackluster bartender, and she’d slipped about half a bottle of rum into the punch bowl, so with any luck, tonight’s ‘Vivian Nightingale Memorial Ball’ should soon surpass the mediocre entertainment its rather unfortunate name promised. 

  In the meantime, there did seem to be one person who seemed to be able to brighten up the room--or at least, everyone in the room within earshot. Sadie took it upon herself to sidle up to the man and start a conversation--two bon vivants were always better than one, after all.
