[Â OPEN STARTER | Warning:Â Lizâs Death ]
DARKNESS, VOIDLESS, EMPTINESS, that was all the red head could see. No matter how hard she squeezed her mothers hand. Nothing but a black mass of emptiness flickered across Ameliaâs Mind. A small noise, close to a whimper fell from quivering lips. This wasnât happening , Her Mother wasnât Dead. She wasnât, she was just in a deep sleep. Like that one christmas morning, when Amelia was only six. She had always been a deep sleeper. So, that was what was going on right now. Elizabeth Forbess was way to stubborn and strong to let something as obscure as a brain tumor take her down. That was it, Amelia knew it was. No One could tell her otherwise, but why was it not clearing up.Â
Why couldnât she see the swimming flash of light, that happened when someone was starting to wake up. Why wasnât her mother responding to her small shakes. Her urgent whispers to wake up, Why wasnât she responding. She needed something, yea that was it. She just needed some water, cause this sickness was taking a lot out of her. And, it was just taking to much energy on her own to wake up. Water, she needed to get the water, to splash a little on her face. That was what she needed to help wake her up.  Her head started bobbing, as she repeated in a voice so low, it was almost in audible to anyone around her.Â
â   Thatâs all she need, water.  â Â
Yet she couldnât move., her body was so rigid with the truth, that it felt like she was cemented to the floor. Small gasps of breath began to fall past her lips, and she forced herself to glance over at the person standing closer to her. Â
â  She needs some water. We just need to splash her face with, water....an  âÂ
But she was cut off as she felt Elena place a reassuring hand to her shoulder. And squeeze, SQUEEZE, no , no she knew what she was going to say. She heard Elenaâs voice, saying in that soft spoken, yet edgy voice,Â
â Amelia, your mothers gone!!!!  âÂ
Why would she say that, why? Didnât she see her, SHE WAS FINE, She would show her, she would show all of them. Jerking her body away from Elena, she backed up into the wall beside her Mothers hospital bed. The tears were staining her cheeks now, like a river. She was to numb to even lie to herself anymore. The dark Voidless abyss that was in her vision played across her mind again, No, No, she wasnât gone. She couldnât be, THIS WAS A MISTAKE.
â My MOTHER IS NOT GONE, SHE JUST NEEDS......  â   Â
But she didnât even believe herself now, the stages of grief had played themselves out now and denial had been washed away. Like the streets after a good thunder storm. Her knees gave out, and she felt herself crumble forth. Falling on top of her Mother, Her back began to tremble, and the sobs came, Loud and Long as she hugged her mothers body close to her now. Not wanting to let go, She didnât know how she was going to do this. The pain was to great, it was to much. All she could do, was cling to the hospital sheets, as the tears spilled from her eyes. Anger wanting to replace the pain. But it was just her mind trying to do anything it could to drown out the pain. To erase the thought, as if it would make everything change. Â
