A very old artifact I picked up from a flea market. I’m obsessed by oriental objects and my house has now ran out of space! 

I found this image online without any description but I was instantly drawn to it. I enjoy the almost 3D feel and bulgy-ness of the shapes. I like using similar shapes to fill spaces in my work. 

I find this image really captivating. The couple have such stern faces, and seem to me to be in a strict religion of some sort. When i see images such as this, it makes me instantly think of story lines which I believe fit the image. It could almost be a late 60s photograph as it’s very realistic.

I found this image in a book I was skimming through in a charity shop and found it really interesting. I like the fact I don’t know the story behind it and that to me it seems slightly random. 

 I’ve always enjoyed Chinese, Japanese, Indian and Buddhist art as a whole. I love this image, I don’t know where its from or who the artist was but I think that adds to the authenticity. The texture of the image gives me the feel its very old and I like the subtle warm colours used. The ring around the ladies head also interests me and have been using similar techniques in my personal project to create focal points.

I like the strangeness of the fact the woman is looking down at her one single breast that has popped out and the fact there both very very pale. I also don’t know why there is red cherubs lurking around the subjects in the centre.
