2ndly - fairly certain what theyre doing is back loading Sam's contract - less this year (pro rata'd for the half year?) Then more as they go further out. This works with the assumption of an increase in the salary cap and possible other increases. It does mean they'll likely be over paying for her in 29 and 30, but they are possibly underpaying her this year and next.

Ooh, the possible increase of the salary cap is a really good point! Apparently the salary cap is 3.7 million now, which is an average of 142,307 per player (assuming 26 players because Princess is on loan). However, two are on the SEI-list: Kayla Duran and Taryn Torres. It is my understanding, that teams get cap relief for players on SEI. Dividing it by 24 would be 154,166 dollars per players.

Obviously, not everyone makes the same amount. And there's the HIP-rule (high impact player) which means they get to spend one million total more on certain players that qualify for it. I'm really curious who is getting re-signed now that free agency has started.
