Too much training/travel/games and its a serious injury risk - because its not just that they have extra games, those extra games mean they travel far far more - theyve had games in Spain, london and Mexico this year, and the squeeze is going to continue because theyve still got two games in hand plus at least 2 international windows. This year is a balancing act that I just dont think anyone else has in the same way.

I agree, there's no need to panic. The second half of the season so far has been much better than the first. And we no longer have three/four/five defenders on the injury list. 😅 Having said that, the schedule is very unfortunate for Gotham with all the extra games and travel and such, but in the coming weeks also in terms of opponent.

Starting with the game against San Diego which they just lost, they have a three game run against very highly placed teams (San Diego, Utah, Washington).

And they are the only team in the NWSL that had all of the following extra games (NWSL teams that competed between brackets):

FIFA Women’s Champions Cup (Gotham, 2 games) CONCACAF finals (Gotham + Washington Spirit, both 2 games) Challenge Cup (Gotham + Kansas City, both 1 game)

Gotham won 3rd place in the FIFA Women's Champions Cup, won the NWSL Challenge Cup and came in 4th place in the CONCACAF W Champions Cup.

Absolutely awful that theyre having to go through that though. Hope they're all hanging on alright.

I'm wishing you and your loved ones all the best! While it is a heartbreaking thing to be familiar with a hospice, it is nice to hear that you've had positive experiences with them.

It really is awful. Jess has had to deal with so much the last few years. But her dad sounded very positive in this, I think. It's lovely that this kind of support is available to him.
