As if its already over, Semester One done and dusted in such as a fast pace, Sad to know its over but from it I as a designer feel like I’ve changed into a more improved version of MY self Communication design Studies has been a blast from the start to the very end. Such a great learning experience and great fun.

When starting this subject I didn’t know what to expect but I can sure say it was well worth it, I thought it would slow and boring lectures of history but the way Andy and Karen ran the course was amazing, the workshop activities helped me think about design on whole new level, ways i thought wouldn’t work, The ways we analysed different design periods and how we incorporated them into today’s world has helped me develop a new way of facing design challenges and design. 

When we began our first assignment I struggled to get a grasp on the idea and how to achieve it after having time with Andy and Karen to talk about it, it helped me get a good understanding. The feedback is always great and helpful. The history lessons through out the course has taught me so much and helped me realise why design or art is how it is today and why, from examples of Bauhaus, Memphis design movement how they have a effect on design today, how conceptual-ism has allowed designers the ability to help make a difference rather then just make a poster look pretty! 

Postmodern art is a body of art movements that sought to contradict some aspects of modernism or some aspects that emerged or developed in its aftermath.  Post Modern art began in the late 20th century and is still going today, some of the known famous Post Modern artist which made an impact are   David Salle known for the drunk painting.  Robert Rauschenberg also a famous artist  an American painter and graphic artist .

Guerrilla Girls are a anonymous group of feminist, female artists devoted to fighting sexism and racism within the art world. the group began in 1985, it began with seven women in New York who were fed up of the sexiest ways art and design was heading!

At the time, the collective (and ensuing movement) known as Memphis was reacting to the austerity of modernism. Designers like Mies van der Rohe and Milo Baughman made furniture with chilly chrome and expensive leather; Memphis designers had an affection for cheap plastic and a mishmash of shapes and colors.

In today’s world and design the style of Memphis has returned with a modern minimal twist with ur creating a fresh new feel
