Bronze Standard: The Best Gilded Beauty Looks to Inspire

When it comes to bridal fashion, it can be a daunting task to create new and exciting ways to reinvent the classic white dress. But one trend that started to appear during Fall ‘16 but that definitely became a trend for Spring ‘17 was the concept of tonal contrast. Now for those who aren’t familiar, this is when a designer opts to use at least two distinctively unique embellishment or fabric texture within the same color of the overall design as a way of creating visual contrast to add depth or definition to the overall design. A perfect example of this is the Watters gown above, which features subtle tonal stripes at the waist. The reason why I’m a huge fan of tonal contrast is because it’s a fabulous way for brides to develop a striking design without feeling overt or over the top about it. And depending on how the designer applies this technique, these gowns can be even more intriguing and exciting than your standard pearl or crystal embellishment.
