You Are Better Than They Are | Reason Why You See Things Differently

Sometimes ageism, racism, and bigotry, homophobia, and other biases aren't manifested through grandiose sentiments, statements, and accusations. Sometimes the agenda is more insidious and sinister, occurring in nuances and creating deniability when confronted with threats of lawsuits and corrections. Society cannot at once throw you under the bus and into the job market for being older and then expect you to behave like a 20-year-old with the world at your feet. When you are older, you recognize that businesses need to pay for mistreating their employees. They need to be punished. And more so, your co-workers who were coerced into helping the "boss. I'm in a fight that is just beginning. Meanwhile, I'm looking at other options. If I'm going to "do my own thing" and "start my own consulting business, I might as well do it now -- especially since I can do it better than the dumb-A$$es who started a company and won an account they do not deserve. Too often, bad business owners, bullies, and fragile-ego employers hope that you, the employee, will not go the distance. They hope you will give up the fight as soon as you face resistance. Don't. When traditional routes fail, the EEOC, EDC, and Department of Labor -- and law -- are on your side.
