there isnât much to do in republic city, if sheâs honest. sure, the city is bustling, packed full with interesting characters and sights. but at the end of the day, the airbender is poor. struggling to save up enough for a bowl of kelp noodles for dinner.
not that the air nation didnât graciously offer up room and board on air temple island (in which jyoti did graciously take up on) â but jyoti had been excited to âliveâ in the city. to eat their take on whatâs up and popular in terms of cuisine (vegetarian of course). not to mention the accessories and sortsâwhich, in an unfortunately turn of events, is why sheâs wandering down the streets of republic city now: cute, with the giant new pink clip on her head, but also, broke.
so much for saving up whatâs left of her âallowanceâ (really, she just prayed and begged for one of the monks at the island to take her money and only offer them up on daily installments after she splurged on that vintage record player on her first day here) for dinner.Â
perhaps she should consider getting a job. surely there must be something an air bison farmer can do in the big city for monâ
the ginormous hand slapping on top of her head has her jumping, torn away from her dilemma to fix bright eyes on the (frustratingly) taller boy before her, however much of a smile she had on disappearing with the ruffle. âmorningââ jyoti doesnât mean to sound annoyed (though lei has always had a way about that); quick in the way she bends a gust of wind to lengthen the distance between them. a small pout in place.Â
âi donât thinkââ she huffs, attention split between fiddling with her hair and the annoying boy. âhey! i never agreed to play hide and seek with you! you just yelled something and ran, so i left.âÂ
