Apple of my Eye

And for the first time in forever, I feel so free. I don't want to go back to the past.

Oh man, coming home I retreat into a hole of unproductivity. And I don't want to crawl out. Maybe once my internship starts I'll start feeling motivated to get more done. Or make more plans with others. You'd think with more time I'd go out more but usually I convert to movie mode.

This morning, I received a text from my mom letting me know that my dad wishes me good luck on my final tomorrow. "Thanks (:" I replied. Just a few minutes earlier, I scrolled through facebook and my cousin posted a pic of my grandma in her youthful years. Peering closer, the caption hit me like a brick. My dad lost his mom this morning. Dad, I am so so sorry for your loss. She was a difficult woman but you loved her. You loved her in the best way you knew how. I wasn't as close to her but her presence will be remembered and honored. May she rest in peace.

This police hating propaganda is getting out of hand. If you sincerely believe to “fuck the police” then you are ignorant. While a few have clearly taken advantage of their position and demonstrated acts of injustice, the rest of the officers should not be grouped into this group of officers that have broken the law. Not all officers are evil! There are many who want to serve and protect who are just as equally disgusted by these dishonorable officers as you are. By hating on the people who have sworn to make sure you are safe, you create a divide that is dangerous for either side. Push away the police and you agree to criminals running loose. And the good officers have no other choice but to watch the people they serve turn their backs on them with unjustified hate. Punish those who have done wrong to the fullest extent of the law. Fight for justice to be served to those who have taken advantage of the system but do not fight against those whose only criminal involvement is due to shared occupation. Do not fight against all police.
