Lately I've been feeling really down about cycling. Or really all exercise. I put on quite a bit of weight and it just became more difficult. During the fall I completely stopped riding and took my bike out about once a month. Then the rain came. I lost all my fitness and even my boyfriend stopped riding with me because I became way too slow for him and he'd rather ride with people who challenge him. I sort of became a little depressed about that because I don't really know any cyclists in this area. There are plenty of group rides but they are all too fast for me so it's more like I don't know anyone who rides at an easier pace and I'm not a big fan of going on long rides alone. So I started riding indoors, on zwift. It was convenient because the rainy season was here and I could ride at my own pace and not have to bother anyone by being too slow or whatever. But I miss riding outdoors. The weight still isn't coming off so I don't think there will be much improvement since a few months ago but maybe if I get into more of a routine it will help. I don't know. I'm not sure what the point of this post is either. I feel like I just had to put my thoughts into words. It's frustrating to be at a certain fitness level and feel good about yourself and then to drop that considerably. I just want to get back to the point where I feel good again on the bike and in general about myself. End rant.
