renaissance in the 21st century
some more
the WHAT??
okay, found her
some more good replies from the notes
what's fuckin amazing about bungou stray dogs :
the whole plot and the abilities are all amazing and creative! i mean fuckin kajii's ability prevents him from being harmed by any lemon shaped bombs lol
the characters in bsd doesn't necessarily rely on their ability. kyoka can summon demon snow but she's still a trained assassin. yosano could fight even tho her ability is something more 'medical'. mori is fuckin terrifying with his scalpel even tho he has elise. fukuzawa's ability is not combat oriented but damn he could cut you up. dazai rely on his intelligence to fight. and there's so many more characters who is more than their abilities and i really really admire that
ofc there's someone like chuuya or akutagawa or atsushi who rely heavily with their ability but still they used their head in a fight
the amount of intelligence in bsd. like??? fuckin how?? and the thing is, bsd doesn't just say the character is a genius and left it at that, they show it to us so we can judge the intellect of the characters ourselves. they have a plan everytime they fight. not to mention dazai and fyodor flirting talking in their own code
there's fuckin psychological manipulation going on in the shadows. we can never know is the part here is just a coincidence or a plan made up by dazai? or maybe it's fyodor who made the move? or maybe mori? what if it's the guild? no wait a sec, what if it's natsume-sensei's plan all along? we will never know
i love the part where bsd clearly shows that information are superrrr important! the one who wins is the kne with the most reliable information and i just- *claps slowly*
im so sorry but i can't stop rambling about all this geniuses' plan i just live it so much omfg how are they so smart
atsushi as a mc is pretty pathetic. he had a low self esteem and he gave up quickly. BUT THAT'S FUCKIN IT!!! atsushi is abused at the orphanage, it bounds to leave a lifetime scar and bsd shows it. heck, he still hear the Principal's voice at the back of his head, he can still see the Principal's standing behind him and telling him he's worthless and that's so fuckin true. abused people often had the same problem. i can still hear my sister's voice telling me to die everytime i fail even tho it's been years. bsd show atsushi's struggle as a survivor and i love it
the cycle of abuse. i recently saw a fanart with mori and dazai walking beside him, practically drowning in darkness. below it is dazai and akutagawa walking together with the same vibe. and below it is akutagawa and kyouka. i- that fanart is so fuckin powerful and i think it represents some relationships in canon
odasaku's reason for not wanting to kill anyone. he literally stop killing bc he felt a murderer is not worthy to write about humans life. i- so simple yet so fuckin deep...
the backstories of every character. like yosano... yosano is so fuckin awesome
nakahara chuuya
everything didn't just suddenly become rainbows and sunshine. when atsushi said to form an alliance with port mafia, it didn't work out. i was a bit disappointed but it's so fuckin realistic. instead mori just sent chuuya so soukoku can take down the enemy. port mafia, add, the government, they all use one another to reach their goal.
nobody is the villain. there's no good vs evil. i mean like sure fyodor and dazai are demons, port mafia is literally the mafia, and kamui should really die at this point. but they all weren't the typical villains. they all have their own reasons to strive for what they believe in
also nobody is fuckin apologetic about their deeds. (well except a few characters like kyouka who didn't want to kill anymore). dazai turned towards the light but did he really regret everything he had done? both sides are the same to him. will mori ever changes his way? no way. fyodor? unlikely. akutagawa only promises not to kill anyone for 6 months but after that? god i love this manga
anyway, did you all see jono? fukuchi thought he will be a grest member for the decay of angels bc of his cruelty but sykes!!! jono actually thought it was nice helping ppl and he turn the tables!! it was such a plot twist....
no, actually the plot twist in bsd is so fuckin great i still get whiplash from it. like i still cannot move on from ango apparently being a triple spy or gogol being alive or fuckin tachihara omg or fukuchi being the leader heughhh im dizzy
just. bsd in general. read it.
also bsd wan i love you so much
People with low/no empathy and people with hyper empathy have solidarity in that we both hate people who use their empathy as a weapon against others, or to make themselves seem like they're morally above everyone else. People with hyper empathy are our allies; people who weaponize empathy and place it above everyone else to the point of directly hurting mentally ill people are not.

Yeah. I was about to say. Heâs that fast because heâs being paid by the pound, not by the hour. So he has to or else he wonât be able to make enough money to put food on the table.
Yeah this is the exact reason slave-grown crops were always lower quality back in the day. Brutally exploited workers, overworked and underfed, trying to reach harvesting quotas as quickly and efficiently as possible is obviously terrible for workers, but it also significantly lowers the quality of the food you eat
kitâs campaign is long over n will probably not resume but aw man, i got hit with a huge wave of nostalgia for it today!! i miss this boi so darn much. he went from rough & tough bloodhunter mercenary to a righteous paladin and overall became such a good egg⌠im so proud. ;_; even his looks had a total overhaul (first three pics vs last three pics!). kit looked so much more mature (áľâżáľ ʰáľáľ) by the end! he went from âhello, itâs nice to finally meet you sirâ to âyour daughter/son/x calls me daddy tooâ âŚâŚ..(ʡʰáľáľáśťáľ)

âHawks/Dabi did everything right.â
[Or: Dabi and Hawks are ideological masterpieces and picking a side explains your kind of moral-justice.]
Letâs take off our fandom-glasses for a moment and look at the gorgeous canon conflict between Dabi and Hawks and âthe injustice of moralityâ.
Now, the goal is to destroy an âunjustâ society. Which will inevitably kill many innocent people. Though: Some of the leagues members are genuinely good people (Twice) or just got abused by the system (Dabi) and see no other choice. Dabi sees his action as âjusticeâ, since he longs for revenge against the man/system who did him wrong. [- But this brings him in conflict with his understanding of moral-pain, as he knows the people he kills have family. - To the point where he cried blood.]
His moral ideology is the extreme opposite of Hawksâ.
When Hawks joined the league, he acknowledged the problem of âinjusticeâ. He saw the flaws of the system and felt genuine sympathy for Twice. But he is unwilling to risk a single civilian life for changing it.
The bloody fun starts when Hawks is gets confronted with the âTrolley-Problemâ.
This is a version of an ethical dilemma from 1967, surrounding the question: Do I stick to the âmoral codeâ by not hurting a criminal or do I choose the âbestâ outcome, by causing a criminalâs death?
In a survey around 90% of the respondents said: âItâs okay to let one person die, to save the larger number of people.â This is the natural human ideology of âUtilitarismâ and also occurs in social animal-species behavior.
BUT If you make it more âpersonalâ, letâs say: You like the person and you have to kill them yourself â And Hawks liked Twice. - Even if it still saves a thousand lives, the reaction is completely different now: Only 10% of the respondents would still do it. Because now it âfeelsâ wrong.
Even if ânot killing this person, because you donât want to feel wrongâ would lead to âletting thousand people die, but feeling rightâ.
Well, Hawks does not feel âheroicâ - Even before he killed Twice, he had huge doubts about his own dignity.
[He jokes he doesnât want to be No. 2. He thinks his back isnât broad enough. He jokes he isnât âTop-heroâ-material. (ref: ch. 188; ch.185)]
Hawks is one of the most intelligent characters within the MHA Universe, and his way of approaching problems is not influenced by âsituational factorsâ but by âlogical weight.â
Hawks took the harder choice and forced himself to suppress his own moral instincts for this. [Remember, he saved Twiceâs life risking his own out of pure reflex. Hawks is a selfless hero, to a point where Dabi relied on it:]
[In fact, Hawks is so selfless, that he sacrifices his own âwish to feel like a good personâ so save the larger number of people. ]
âAh. Cool motive, still murder.â Does the end really justify the means?
Letâs say (solely hypothetical) Hawks killed Twice â but Toga copies Twiceâ quirk, and over hundred million civilians of Japan die nonetheless. Hawks has now killed a good man, without direct logical weight behind it.
Someone could (or will, because Iâm fucking going to) conclude that the righteousness of Hawks action might solely depend on its success. ( â At least till we include numbers in Hawkâs imaginary litigation. Because Twices quirk included âexponential growth of fighting powerâ, the heroesâ chances of winning would run asymptotic to zero, which would result in the death of over a hundred-million people. Not taking the âriskâ of beeing injustice would therefore have been illogical from Hawksâ perspective.)
So was Hawks âinjusticeâ?
From Dabis point of view: âWell- Yes of fucking course.â
Because Dabiâs character personifies the exact opposite ideology: âdeontological theoryâ, which focuses not on the product of his acts, but the intrinsic value of the act in and of itself. Dabi approaches problems complete and utterly âselfishâ. Â - No, this does not mean that he canât do things for others out of sympathy- It means that he acts bird-free after his own instinctive moral-code and makes his decisions because he feels like they are the right thing to do. - Like a normal human - just a little more extreme.Â
[See, Dabi recruited Hawks into the inner circle of the League, without trusting him - because he doesnât trust the League either. (He said this and acted like this several times.) Just like Hawks, Dabi is a lonely and paranoid man. But other than Hawks, he is driven by the injustice he experienced. He uses on his own pain as fuel to fight for the things he right now sees as âgoodâ.)
- Dabi got exploited and abused by the hero-system? -> He will destroy said hero-system as revenge, to create momentary âjusticeâ for himself.
- Dabi gets the chance to benefit from a hero? -> He will recruit him without much caring for long-term consequences.
- Dabi loses a valuable ally/partner trough a hero? -> He will kill/torture said hero as revenge. Â
Dabi is more âjusticeâ fixated than Hawks.
Dabi would never kill a man he likes for the âgreater goodâ. (He also does not care about the âliberationâ-ideology, or anything regarding the âfreedomâ of regular civilians. Which is shown in his fight against Geten and again in his monologue in chapter 267.) He only cares about the âinjusticeâ of the hero-system. Dabi clings to his âhumanityâ more than Hawks does and he reacts to his own pain with highly emotion-driven actions. He clearly does not care about the long-term effects his actions have on him- or everyone else.Â
[Neither Hawks nor Dabi expect a long life, but both deal with it very differently.]
From Dabiâs point of view, Hawks is injustice, because he killed a good man, right here and now and the consequences â good or bad â do not matter. (âThe action in itself was amoral.â)
[It is very interesting to see the reactions within the fandom, paralleling Dabiâs exact ideology to the point where some wanted Dabi to punish Hawks in the name of justice. Dabiâs moral-code is to lesser extents portrayed in many shonen-protagonists (e.g. Gon from HxH) â and sometimes criticized as immature.]
Actually, both sides can be reduced to:
Dabiâs: âThink for yourself and do whatever the hell you recognize as righteous right now.â and Hawksâ: âThink for the others and do whatever the hell is necessary to bring the maximum good to society.â
âŚAnd I also think thats pretty fucking cool.
wow i love hawksâ moving castle

Draw a different object/scene/character. Shade using hatching, crosshatcing, and/or pointillism. Bonus points for lights/shadows and textures.
Colors! Pick a color palette, and paint a scene/character/object using only those colors (some blending allowed). Bonus points for good use of lights/shadows.
Draw and color a scene/object/character - no lines allowed! (aka - lineless art). Donât forget light and shadows!
Draw a scene/character in a style youâve never drawn before. If emulating an artist, credit+link. Bonus for color style.
Draw a character. Draw 10 emotions/expressions. Bonus points for 'uncommonâ emotions. (i.e. anxiety, guilt, despair, loneliness etc.)
