Saw this Periodic table of the emotions for sale on a social workers resource site and thought it was a great way to help us identify how we are feeling. Found it Interesting how the different emotions are colour coded- this is something I have been exploring in my sketchbooks for my #strodefad #summerproject
Blue is traditionally associated with feeling low or sad,
Red is associated with anger and yellow with happiness/joy.
Green for disgust/envy is also quite common.
Not to sure about the purple for fear though? I would associate darker colours- black maybe? Guess that might not work on a poster though :)
Note that Red is also used for Love- but a ‘pinker’ version, interesting that the same colour evokes quite opposing emotional responses.
Summer Project 2020- #Isolationcreationdiaries
This feed is documenting my summer project work for my #strodefad year 1 #summershow that we now have to do digitally as we can’t get into college because of the #COVID-19 lockdown. This has presented a great challenge to me and my fellow students as we are missing access to the amazing resources and technical support we were priveleged to have at @strodefad and now have to make our projects at home with whatever resources we can access there.
I am blessed with a well-stocked art supply and space in my new #homestudio and garden to work so am truly grateful for that. I have spent the past 3 weeks of the college being closed regrouping, exploring my feelings about the rapidly changing world that we live in, and how it affects my emotions.
As the theme of my project was how we wear a ‘mask’ to project ‘acceptable’ feelings and deflect our true emotions and the impact that words have on our #mentalhealth, the opportunities this unprecendented situation provides to explore how we can be #kindtoyourmind and break down the #stigma associated with having open and non-judgemental conversations about our inner thoughts and emotional response to past and present events and traumas are endless.
The prominence of masks in our consciousness now to protect us from infection is also a rich source of inspiration for my work, and I have been exploring this in my #sketchbooks.
I have also been working through the emotion wheel I use in my #EFTtherapy work, and the six core emotions: Anger, Fear, Sadness, Surprise, Guilt, Happiness and developing my #creativeresponse to each of them. I will post video and photos of the work as I do it. I sadly do not have access to some #ceramic pieces I left to be fired on my last day in college so can only post images of them pre-firing.
