How do you define whether a creature counts as a bug? Is it a matter of size, shape, taxonomy, vibes, or some other option I may have overlooked? To explain what I mean:

Bug is defined by size - all small critters, from true insects, arachnids and annelids, millipedes and centipedes are all bugs

Bug is defined by shape - a bug is an invertebrate with at least six legs

Bug is defined by taxonomy - only true bugs, of the class insecta and order hemiptera, are bugs

Bug is defined by vibes - any creature that's sufficiently small and skitters in an insect-like fashion is a bug. Your auntie's ancient beady-eyed lapdog counts as a bug.
