atomicpunch:
â Yeah, I guess. â
Calvin leans into her hug, half-heartedly returning it. His mom is just one of many things that have been weighing heavy on his mind lately- but she is certainly the biggest.
â I just kinda wish I was there lookinâ out for her, yanno? I mean, I know sheâs got all my brothers and shit, but⊠I hate not beinâ there for her when thereâs so much shit goinâ on. Between her gettinâ sick, nâ⊠â
He sighs deeply.
â Guess Frank is gonna be in town. â
âYeah, I know. I was thâ same way when my ma was sick...â
Selina stiffens, almost too noticeably, when Calvin mentions his dad. With any luck, heâll assume itâs because of their mutual hatred of the man; Selina spent almost as much time around Frank as Calvin did.
In all honesty, Selinaâs probably spent more time around Frank than any of his actual kids. His old manâs been hiding out in Washington almost since Selina was forcibly moved there at 12. Her father and Frank had always been close, and so he had hung around them a lot.Â
Calvin doesnât know anything about that though, and Selinaâs not exactly eager to share that information.
âOh....why? I mean- he never really shows up âless he wants somethinâ, right?â
