More Finchwhistle propaganda, this time in the form of an icon! I was feeling nostalgic so I unearthed an ancient fur rendering method for this piece, which might actually be a reflection of how badly I want to 3D model this guy for literally no reason.

Ultimately this piece serves its purpose as an icon but I feel like I've thoroughly exhausted any unique ideas I have for icons, I need to stop making OCs so I don't have to come up with anything else lol

The vast majority of my ArtFight CSS templates have undergone major updates and achieved 100% feature compatibility, with the rest on their way soon. These were long awaited updates and I'm happy to finally deliver them.

I'm not even a very big fan of Hazbin/Helluva (despite appearances), but this thought experiment was too good to pass up. The commonly agreed upon requirements for a human soul to get into heaven is that they must truly believe they deserve it. Surely religious affiliation also plays a role, especially when said soul still retains holy abilities from his training and alignments in life. Thusly, one Leland Townsend would spawn in heaven. Of course this wouldn't stick - the seraphim would take one look at this guy and slime him, break his halo, cast him down to hell where he belongs, and stew over how this obviously terrible guy could've gotten into heaven in the first place. He would be, as in life, a mischief maker sinner with a secret holy ace in the hole.

In life (canon), Leland was a fallen angel of sorts; previously an agent of the Church / the Entity, now a servant of evil / the Sixty. That fact alone lends itself to a cool Hellaverse character.

If you're new here, every July I put a pause on virtually my entire creative life to focus on the big Art Fart and that includes Weekly Wednesday posts. Instead, I post all the revenges I made the week prior.

What's NOT supposed to happen was my complete and total radio silence last Wednesday. I literally forgot time was a thing and that I had to make a post until two days later lmfao. That shouldn't happen again (and this should be the end of my dry/late spell regardless). Sorry about that. In return I'm sending this out super early today, so win ig?

This is XJ-0461 'Devo' again (whom you can attack!) with some additional sorely needed reference materials. Previously the only image with his glasses off was an edit of the icon image which even I find useless since it doesn't have pickable colours, so I produced this for ArtFight to bridge the gap in the meantime. Colour version can be found there as part of a new tempref (soon).

He's also Really Scary if you take off his glasses and let him show his teeth. Behind that affable visage is a really dangerous dude lol

This is BEE-0002 'Eli', one of two neural network android bees created by ARTIFICE as a deep learning experiment. Left without a directive, the bee brothers looked at the world around them and decided to start a casino, which quickly became the most popular and most profitable in the entire world. One of the draws is that the two brothers are absolutely unbeatable, no matter how good you think you are.

This image is intended to serve as a better, more updated ref, since this is only the second time ever I've drawn the brothers and that original drawing did not serve very well as a ref. The two are identical except for swapped palettes on the stripes. Overall the old design is really solid, all I really changed was a couple inconsistencies.

It's also far easier for me to edit and copy to 50+ characters. Also mobile isn't downright unusable on characters anymore lmao not quite sure when that broke but it's fixed now

I'm on Team Mystery this year and I am SO glad we finally got another red theme oh my god. I'm holding off on posting my silly AF card and shouting it to the clouds this year until a bit closer to the start of the month. My promo page I've done in the past won't be appearing this year since I've folded it directly into my AF profile!

I had intended to reveal my Leland Townsend (Evil 2019) Hellaverse AU in a separate post, but it wouldn't make sense to post that and then this, so here we are lol. He'll be on ArtFight this year, and I'll make the true reveal post when that's ready.

This spawned from a thought experiment about what would happen to Leland in the Hellaverse's afterlife - do NOT read on if you haven't finished the show or I'll eat you alive. I think he'd spawn in heaven thanks to his prior loyalties but would get immediately kicked out and fall to hell where he belongs. He retains some angelic features and gains more when entering full demon form. His prized possession is his broken halo which he swiped on his way down; it provides him with a degree of angelic power. Mostly he's just a mischief maker. He has aura until you notice he has a heart snout.

I wrote up some sort of informal pitch bible for the world of ARTIFICE and inadvertently accomplished a ton of worldbuilding for it, so look forward to me finally cleaning up some outdated info for that. I'm trying to hold myself back from uploading a billion characters right before ArtFight however, so most of this will be kept behind the curtain for now.

I'll be completely honest, I didn't have anything prepared for this post so I delved into my crap to do folder and pulled something out.

Rectrix Pronghorn of the Red Army didn't have a proper icon until now, just a crop of the first headshot I ever made of him. That rendered him the only character on my ArtFight profile that lacked a proper icon (and is of a reasonable degree of finalised). Turns out I couldn't come up with a better icon for him so I just retrofitted that original headshot that has become just so quintessentially Pronghorn. This is more of the icon than one will ever see, and it came out kinda weird looking in a way I struggle to describe, but it does its job just fine.

Devo is an android intelligence made to replace an existing lifeform with perfect accuracy, and subsequently serve as a spy for the unit's creators. A malfunction made him aware of this, so he sought out a way to sever himself from his superiors. This character actually turned five years old recently!

This is one half of two posts featuring some new-old characters I finally put up last week: Red Leader's first two recruits.

This is Agitatrix Platinum of the Red Army (page also very much a WIP). His design is a repurposed older design, chosen for the red, but it also pulls from Giratina a tad (get it? ya get it?). He's a metallurgist and not as much of a fighter like his partner in crime. They sound like your typical brains and brawn trope, but I assure you they subvert it in some pretty funny ways I hope to elaborate on.

This is one half of two posts featuring some new-old characters I finally put up this week: Red Leader's first two recruits.

This is Agitatrix Pollution of the Red Army (page very much a WIP). This guy's design was real difficult to nail down, particularly in terms of palette. I wanted something rather gross (to befit the name) that used blue in a more unconventional way, without making him too gross. Did I succeed? I can't even tell, I redid it twice already while drawing this lol. Yes his eye patch is meant to be reminiscent of Red Leader's - Pollution's actually came first chronologically and prompted RL to do what he did with his :]

Among the various developments, most notably, my own ArtFight HTML/CSS is nearly complete. I might overhaul it sometime soonish since I don't 100% like it and how divergent it is from my other pages (this used to be a restriction of AF, but not anymore), but for now at least the info is correct. It also renders that promo webpage thing I've done in the past totally obsolete! so that won't be reappearing again.

The ArtFight HTML update has been keeping me real busy! I've been trying to not let it consume my life - I would be wise to keep my scope focused on CSS only - but I can't help it that I love to teach sometimes. Maybe next week I'll work on something other than that lmao

It has occurred to me numerous times that I don't have proper ref imagery for Red Leader's left side, so I finally took the time to make just that. This is Red Leader's cybernetics design stripped of style. Now you don't have to guess anymore! (sorry it took this long)

When I started this i wanted it to be an interactive 3D model because I felt like that was more effective to see it at any angle you need as opposed to an orthographic view, but I fell victim to scope creep. Maybe that'll manifest some other time since it is already mostly done, but it needs more time in the oven..

Most of my characters are all set and done, but my profile needs work and I plan to add new corresponding HTML templates to add to each of my CSS templates, but I expect that to take quite some time.
