DOMESTICATED: Omnivorous. A dated/cheap form of public transport, slowly being pushed out by mass teleportation circles (to some controversy). Can seat about 4 comfortably, but stables stretch that up to a cramped 8. The harness is looped around the base of the neck and tail. The saddle and passenger seating lays along the back, while the lower strap hangs loosely underneath the body and is used to store cargo, held in place by the tauralatan's mid legs. While typically this cargo is held close to the chest of the animal, a cheap ticket or stable may either neglectfully or maliciously place cargo closer to the hind region of the animal, which causes discomfort for all parties.

As practical use diminishes, the popularity of dressage and other showmanship is growing among the upper class. Qualities that trainers strive for are the smooth, wave-like gait in flight, combined with either completely still or trot-like movement in the front and hind legs. The mid legs should be held still and close to the body. A cargo or transportation ox typically has a gait with a frequency of <1Hz, whereas a show ox may reach up to 5Hz with a small enough amplitude. [Probably there would be different terminology for wave gaits vs. physics waves, but linguistics is always the part where it feels like I'm doing too much lol]

WILD: Carnivorous. Much larger and more aggressive, they typically divebomb prey, trapping it with their front and/or hind talons, then finishing it off with their mid talons. Wild tauralatans spend most of their time in the air, resulting in sharper, longer talons. Eyes are even sizes, where domesticated have diminished front- and down- facing and larger side-facing eyes.

The influences for the band's sound depend on the era it takes place in. to me it goes:

80s: minor threat-type thrashy postpunk

90s: grunge (wtf else is he gonna do.)

00s: nu-metal (his truest form imo)

anything after: screamo rap e.g. grim salvo; death grips-type shit as well. he could maybe be blackmailed into one hyperpop collab

(what these all have in common is yelling and screaming.) as far as how jason sounds, i keep defaulting to corey taylor bc of course (nods like you know what i'm talking about) but there are plenty of solid options. his lyrics are probably pretty nonsensical to most ppl, tho maybe after it disbands, ppl would get really into analyzing them.

still not sure if i like not-vigilante for this, or if it's funnier if he's still red hood. this choice drastically changes the logistics of everything that follows, so though i have some fun fic ideas floating around, there's nothing solid yet. i p much have a pros and cons list for either choice at this pt... much to stink on ig. would probably help if i knew literally anyone who was into this idea lmao.
