So back in the day, when I still had hair, I used to be a #chef. In my 26 years in the kitchen, I’ve worked in some fantastic places ( including some Michelin), and worked with some great chefs (and some utter #wankers ). But in 2015 I hit a wall and broke. After pulling in 80-90 hour weeks, my #mentalhealth gave way. All of the issues I hadn’t dealt with from my childhood resurfaced with a mission to destroy me. By the end of 2015 I had written a note and was ready to give in. With the help of my wife and a few close friends, I was able to just keep my head above water. I’m still Ill now, and can find things overwhelming and too much sometimes, the scars on my arms are testament to that, but I’m still fighting, and as long as I do, I still have a purpose. I don’t know if I’ll ever see the other side of #depression, there are times I feel it will get me in the end, and the #anxiety hurts me so deep, but if I wake up the next day, I know that I’m winning back my broken soul, just a little bit at a time.
