Wait guys I kinda of like this fella… hmm…

they piss me off so bad, and honestly I feel quite bad for them.

no, I do not like helping people because it makes me feel better about myself, I like helping people because I like seeing other people be happy and not suffering or feeling like they are alone. I don’t do it for myself, I do it for other people.

but on the contrary, I also like looking at cute fanart. I like saying “awhhhh this character is so cute!” and reposting it.

I genuinely can’t grasp the concept of people who scroll for hours on end, reading short texts. And after a while, their media literacy and comprehension of words and text will come down with them.

ex. Short form content and scrolling algorithm based social media. It’s good to use it in moderation, but what I’m realizing is teens and tweens who use these social medias obsessively. And if I’m being honest, YouTube is on thin ice with this. YouTube shorts is good if you’re, once again, using it in moderation.

But once it comes to a point of “all I do is scroll”, that is genuinely unhealthy. And unfortunately, yes, I have met people like this. In fact it is every popular person I have ever met. It is so sad to see people like this, so self conscious and self hating because an algorithm brought them hateful and toxic content. It just feeds more and more into the negativity if you show you relate or like it. They don’t care. All they want is money.

now, I understand scrolling for a little while, watching animations of your favorite character or hobby, ship or sport, but if all you value on the internet is watching people destroy who they truly are and put up a fake and unachievable persona on the internet, your health with suffer ever so detrimentally. (ex. overconsumption, making themselves seem perfect, hating on people to make them seem better, bad ideas and standards, etc.) you WILL become like those people. I am speaking from experience. It sucks for yourself and the people around you.

The internet is literally suffering right now. A place that once valued individual expression and freedom of oneself has now become a place of copy-paste unattainable standards and hate. This is genuinely starting to feel like we are slowly watching social media melt before our very eyes.
