As strange as it was to be taking advice from a sixteen year old boy that heâd never met before, Oliver found that everything Noah said made sense. Â Someone had to take the first move toward repairing things, and Peter was just a kid. Â It was his own responsibility as a father to step up. Â But he wondered how much of this was coming from Noah, now that he knew the Bratchers probably hadnât even bothered to show up for their son.
âYou have no idea what youâve done for me,â Oliver said softly, meeting Noahâs eyes with complete honesty. Â âAnd really, I think you two are good for each other. Â I wouldnât be surprised if Peter asks you to visit during Christmas.â
He glanced up at Oliver with a beaming smile. Wow, Christmas with the Woods? It sounded magical. âYou think he wou-â
Noah was cut off at the shrill sound of his mother calling out his name. âNoah! There you are. Iâve been looking everywhere for you. Why didnât you meet me?â It was instant the way he shut down when his mother reached him and Oliver. She awkward patted his shoulder and he looked up at Oliver apologetically.Â
âUm, t-this is my mu-âÂ
âIâm sure itâs a pleasure to meet you but we have a tight schedule and Iâve already wasted so much time just looking for you. Goodbye.â She wouldnât even let him say goodbye to Oliver before she was whisking him away muttering about wanting to break another womenâs knitting needles in half.
