The Barman's Fund had a great time in June. We delivered art supplies to Kingsley House for the kids attending their summer camp programs, we helped Kayak-iti-Yat remove an invasive species of water hyacinth from Bayou St. John, lent a bartender or 3 to SOUL's annual fundraiser and delivered snacks to the Fishes and Loves food pantry at First Grace United Methodist for them to distribute in a summer backpack program for local kids out of school this summer. Today The Barman's Fund donated healthy snacks for the Summer Backpack program by the Fishes and Loaves Community Pantry at First Grace United Methodist Church on Canal St. in New Orleans. The Barman's Fund 5t Annual Memorial Day Block Party was a success! On Monday, May 29th 2017 we bore witness to an amazing display of love, fellowship, friendship and commitment to the cause. Together we raised a $9,928 donation for Help for Heroes of Greater New Orleans. These funds will help the families of those who serve our fine city each day. Kingsley House builds community.
For well over 100 years, Kingsley House has been there for New Orleans and her people. Founded to help immigrants overcome displacement barriers as they settled in New Orleans, they've battled tuberculosis and helped eradicate yellow fever, passed child labor laws, founded the Tulane School of Social Work, introduced the first kindergarten in Louisiana and provided it free of cost to children living in the neighborhood and hosed the first integrated swimming pool in the city of New Orleans in 1957. The Barman's Fund supports the summer camp programs at Kingsley House with art and craft projects and supplies. Sometimes, they let us get our hands dirty with the kids. Drink with purpose this month and support a house that supports us.

Last Thursday, Amici Ristorante on Magazine Street in New Orleans was nice enough to host an art show with the benefits going towards The Barman's Fund. This months donations went to Young Audiences of America. We are proud to account that the art show brought in $2200 for this months charity! Hope we can do it again soon.
