Oh, man, I know the feeling. Before I got this radio, I usually used e-mail and carried a tablet with me, and holy crap, did I get a lot of people trying to get in touch with me after a long day in the studio.

I’m doing good, thanks for asking. I heard about a party on Northumberland, so I might go check that out. I don’t know, though, it depends on who’s going.

That right? I can’t imagine how much flack you must’ve gotten for that. Still, it’s better than a radio. Now, people can call whenever they like. Eugh.

Call me old fashioned, but can’t a guy have his privacy?

North... hm.. I haven’t heard anything about it. Maybe someone mentioned it over their order or something, but I couldn’t say for sure. I’d call around, then.

I know what you mean. Sometimes things have to be done, don’t they? The hard part is making sure you can do what you have to do. That’s definitely why a ton of us, the civilians, I mean, it’s why we look up to you all.

Thank you for that. I have quite a few feelings about the “strategy” of this City, but I shouldn’t chat about them on air. And for people in a trade that doesn’t deal with guns, it doesn’t seem like a big deal, so long as you don’t look at your customers’ weapons.

Yeah, the Den had been a problem for a while. Not as bad as some but way worse than others. It was nice to get them out of commission. Less dead units out in the sands, all that. Just goes to show that strategy does what brute force never can.

I’ve always thought brute force was... well, a little much, to be honest. There’s only so much that holding a gun to someone’s head can do before you have to learn a different way of going about your work. Metaphorically speaking, I mean. Guns weird me out. Funny, right?

Those might have been some of the members of my unit you remember, they’d been waiting for me to come back to them for a while by then. It was one of my harder takedowns.

I think it must have been, for them to be so excited about it. You had a good portion of the place chattering away over their radios and the like, more and more as the day went on. I actually remember Pete telling me he hadn’t seen the officers so upbeat in a while.

Not for you. My job doesn’t require much concentration if I’m not sparring, so I have an almost silly amount of time to communicate with no one.

Oh, he’s plenty capable. We both are, we’ve been running those discount days for long enough that it isn’t a terrible challenge anymore. That, and some of the officers are in so often that we practically have their orders memorized.

Oof, what year is it?

I’m kidding, guys, just kidding. Pete and I know we’ve been quiet on here for a while, and we want to apologize for leaving everyone hanging. Don’t worry, though, we’ve been plenty busy while we were away.

And by away, I mean not really away, just working at Morewest and plotting some new menu items for the summer, so we weren’t exactly gone, just... Oh, you know.

Speaking of which, next week Pete’s going to be announcing what we’ve got in store for the oncoming heat. Let me tell you all, it’s a doozy.

We aren’t going anywhere, folks, there’s nothing to be nervous about. Your coffee boys will be here for a looong time.

So, I’m actually stuck in bed right now. Or uh, stuck in couch. Woke up with a nasty bug that hasn’t realized I’m supposed to be downstairs, and Pete’s determined to keep me inert until this thing passes, so... How’s everyone doing?
