“I’m disappointed that no demon has approached me to buy my soul- but I can’t say that I’m terribly surprised.”

“What, you don’t think you were at the top of their list?” 

“Man, so many murders. At least no ladies were harmed.”

“That’s kind of sexist, don’t you think? Not that I particularly mind since it rules in my favor.” 

“That’s fair, I guess.”

“So what do you do around here?” 

“Or whatever?”

“I don’t even pretend to understand it.” 

“I’m loving this cooler weather.”

“Right? I know the town is part of some sort of apocalypse or whatever now, but honestly we couldn’t ask for nicer weather for it.” 

“Oh right, okay - that’s fair enough. Though you must have had an idea in mind?  What did you study?”

“Marketing.” 

“I just worked my ass off. You don’t get anything without working for it.”

“I’m not really a...career gal, but... I went to school.” 

“—You know, that actually doesn’t sound all that bad. Maybe I should’ve kissed Christian back when he put the moves on me. I kind of regret it now.”

“Don’t regret it. Go get him yourself.” 

“Every time I try to look at anyone else…. like, really try.. it just feels like a rubber band. The harder I pull, the harder I try to get away, I just fling right back. I’m still trying, though— never say never.”

“Maybe you’re trying too hard. I recommend just trying to have fun with it for a while. No attachments, just doing whatever feels good.” 

“God, you must be bored stiff. No wonder you’re bitter about this.”

“Wow. You must be really smart.” 

“Options, smart.”

“Always options. How about you?” 

“Of course it is.”

“No I’m between jobs. You?”
