#everyone has to follow the same rules or the rules are just a tool of oppression#so the Lan Sect Correctly punished their second heir#this was a terrible thing that happened yes but it was also deserved in the setting and was the end of it#he doesn't get kicked out of the sect#he does not get removed from his home#he is punished and that is enough#he is still considered one of the top cultivators of his sect and is treated as such#his family love him so much#But you can't enforce rules and laws for some people and not others (especially when the rule is 'dont maim your sect elders'(#sorry i just really love to see people being sensible about this#the Lan family all love lwj and he did this knowing he would be punished - maybe even wanting to be - to share in wwx's punishment? - via @beekindish
