The owner of a Brooklyn brownstone says the side of her historic red-brick building was painted black by her neighbor — and she wants them to pay for what they did. Evette Simmons, 59, says she found out about the sudden color change on the century-old home on Hancock St. in Bedford-Stuyvesant from one of her tenants in August 2016. Simmons, a nurse practitioner who lives in Mill Basin, didn’t get a chance to visit the property until December.
