It’s been super wild to learn that apparently a lot of people absolutely hated and were creeped out by Kang/Hyeonsuk’s dynamic and their kiss scene in the last episode because of the age gap when I’m sitting here with the 1.2k words of fic I churned out about them in half an hour because I fucking loved that angle

I love how Notes from the Last Row is overflowing with interesting themes to examine regarding stories and storytelling and how it encourages the viewer to consider the role we play in others’ life stories, the way a single moment between two people can simultaneously change the trajectory of one person’s life and be utterly unremarkable to the other, etc. etc.

But I also love how it’s not inaccurate to say that one of the morals of the story is “Never be an asshole to a kid because they might strategically insert themselves back into your life twelve years later and sleep with your wife”

#and he’ll treat her so well that it’ll galvanize her to finally leave you #because she realizes how much better her life will be when she stops wasting it on someone who doesn’t treat her like the queen she is #the way she deliberately left out the two wineglasses and half finished charcuterie board for Munoh to see when he got home… ruthless.#I adore her. I’m about halfway through the Weak Hero webtoon, and I can absolutely see why some webtoon fans were disappointed by the drama; so far, I personally adore both versions, but I sort of view them as separate entities. Netflix really did the drama creators dirty by only giving them eight 30-minute episodes per season to adapt such a massive story with such a huge cast of fascinating characters, and I think the screenwriters/director did a great job bringing the essence of the story to life within the limitations that were imposed on them.

That said, I’m going to be heartbroken forever that we never got to see Im Juyang, the Hyper Elbow of Eunjang High, on-screen 😭
