I’m about halfway through the Weak Hero webtoon, and I can absolutely see why some webtoon fans were disappointed by the drama; so far, I personally adore both versions, but I sort of view them as separate entities. Netflix really did the drama creators dirty by only giving them eight 30-minute episodes per season to adapt such a massive story with such a huge cast of fascinating characters, and I think the screenwriters/director did a great job bringing the essence of the story to life within the limitations that were imposed on them.

That said, I’m going to be heartbroken forever that we never got to see Im Juyang, the Hyper Elbow of Eunjang High, on-screen 😭

#god. they are everything to me #in the middle of a long overdue rewatch rn #and I had forgotten just how much I adore them #the writers make you worry for about thirty seconds that he’s going to try to be her moral compass #with the ‘you’re a better person than them’ talk #but as soon as she rolls her sleeve up you see that darkness emerge behind his eyes #as he realizes in an instant that he’ll do anything for her #and it’s not even bringing out a new side of him; it’s more that he finally has a fresh purpose he can use that darkness for #what better use is there for all that rage and violence curled up inside him than carrying out the will of someone he loves?#the glory

#I need to narrow down some ideas… hm…#maybe a compilation of all of Segye’s adorable acts of service in ep. 13 #I adore the scene at the hospital where Segye tells Seori he can stay at her grandmother’s bedside so she can get some rest #because he’s offering what he thinks she needs most in the moment (rest and space to process her emotions)#but when she tells him she’s going to stay he doesn’t argue #he accepts that what he was offering isn’t what she needs most in that moment #and changes tack to carry out a different act of service that better suits her current needs #(bringing her fresh clothes; food; etc.)#he knew he’d never convince her to step away to rest so he found a different way to help #and the way he quietly sat with her while she went through her grandmother’s belongings…#and went to get fresh fruit for her in hopes he could get her to finally eat something…#🥹#I love him so much; I love how much he’s matured #and I’ve loved watching Seori learn to accept help and lean on others when she needs to
