okay let's try words
I am currently boiling in very salty purple glittery bath water and it is bliss.
It's also making it easier to scrape the purple nail polish off the non-toenail bits of my toes. A nail technician I am not. (And purple because that makes it easier to hide in jacaranda trees.)
Very salty because I've been riding my bike a bunch more lately and the bicycle-enabling chunks of my legs are sore. Another 15 miles after work today.
I remembered to stop off at the grocery store while I was out on my ride to pick up more coffee. I forgot to get some while I was out yesterday and had to resort to the circa. 2020 Costco K-cups I pilfered from the office and friends, that stuff is Not It.
The State Department said 4 to 6 weeks for my passport but they got it turned around in 9 days, so that was nice. Now I'm toying with the idea of a trip Somewhere Else (on top of my ongoing daydreams of winning the lottery and quitting my job). Needs me a distraction.
I have snark I could post about work but it's mostly whatever, it's fine.
I'm in a lull between concerts, and my body is refusing me long walks, and the sunshine is doing its part, but it really is that trifecta that keeps me sane and right now it's faltering. I mean, it's fine. I'm fine. But also, I am ugh.
This Maisie Peters album is a bit more singer-songwritery than her earlier work (and the production on a couple tracks could be better) but I'm here for it. Give me tour dates. Let's go.
There's probably more but I have a headache. I should probably go to bed about it.
Good night, tumblr
so it's june now?
gpoy we are not spending $22 on a passport photo, we have a camera at home edition
I took my flesh prison of ailments for a 20 mile bike ride to visit the ocean and it was really nice and now I'm home eating handfuls of goldfish crackers and that is also really nice.

Saturdays by Twin Shadow (feat. HAIM)
"5 days is about the right number of days for a weekend" was my cheeky comment on the Monday morning call 3 weeks ago. The following 3 weeks would pay me back for that sass.
I found a vintage 2021 face mask folded up in the pocket of a pair of shorts I put on this week. Never forget, I guess.
I've been daydreaming about quitting my job again. I bought a lottery ticket to see if I could somehow move that along. Fingers crossed.
I could have gone for about 20% less of the middle of this week's book, but the surrounding chapters carried it.
We signed a new customer at work. The leadership team made it clear that AI will be what lets us hit our highly improbable delivery timeline.
But it's fine because work keeps giving me the money I need to buy the concert tickets I need to keep coping with work.
It really is bullshit how much physical pain is involved with just ~existing~
Ticketmaster casually adding a 49.17% service fee like what are you gonna do about it?
well I wasn't thinking about Puerto Rico for Thanksgiving this year...
please accept this photo dump in lieu of words that say all the things i've been meaning to say.

Escape room
It's not even noon yet and I've had to remind myself 3 times already: wait, today is Monday 🫠
"we should not feed our customer's confidential and proprietary business information to an ai chatbot", and "no, not even in private mode", and "i don't care if 'it's total shit' that's not a criteria for data classification" and so on.
fuck it, Claude take the wheel
Do you record videos with an iPhone?
Do you hate how the sound gets all muffled when you zoom in? Like in basically every video you've ever taken at a concert??
Good news! They finally added a setting to fix that in the 26.4 update!!
Settings > Camera > Record Sound
Scroll down to the bottom and turn off Audio Zoom
Now, whatever sound your iPhone would record at 1x is the sound that will be recorded at any zoom!

I'm watching the crowd and see this girl--maybe 7 or 8 years old, all dressed up, bow in her hair--aggressively dragging her parents into the pit. It was hilarious.
Thing is, the pit was already half full, so there was no way this kid was going to see a thing. The parents realized this and redirected their escort to the raised level off to the side.
When I got inside an hour and a half earlier, I opted for a prime spot at the front of the raised level off to the side rather than being 2nd or 3rd row in the throng. A great view, as side views go, and vacant enough to have a lil sit down (until I got yelled at by security for causing a fire hazard...by sitting...on the floor).
Anyhow, even the not-quite-packed raised level off to the side was proving a challenge for this family since 7 or 8 year olds are inherently very short people. They eventually made their way to the front, looking for a sightline that would work, and I waved them over. I stepped back and gestured to the empty spot at the railing.
Y'all. This kid was v i b r a t i n g with excitement. Fucking adorable.
The dad went off to acquire merch and I chatted with the mom a bit. This was the kid's very first concert. She was obsessed with Taylor Swift during the Eras Tour and when that waned the parents were like 🤷♀️how about Maisie Peters?🤷♂️ and the kid was like, YES.
Love it.
Anyhow, this kid had the best night. I had the best night. It was a good night to be a Maisie Peters fan in LA. (Even if I still hate LA.)
