IM BACK IN THE FUCKING BUILDING AGAIN
with absolutely no context for this whatsoever, here's the boys vacationing in the greatest state of the union, Maryland USA 🦀
something I’ve noticed in fandoms lately is a lack of… object permanence? perspective? Just reacting to each episode/chapter of something as if it’s final & whatever plot line they dislike is the status quo forever? like…… have a tiny bit of patience
I kinda understand because a lot of franchises lately have ended in shoddy and poorly thought out ways, but tbh either have some faith in your fav show or just write fanfic
First art post on this app I guess, let's go ♡

I wanted to start doing some very simplistic lineups of all the characters we met in Malevolent: Threshold so far! So here's batch one featuring Faroe, Michael Callihan, Arthur and Detective Logan

Given how neither John nor Yellow have ever gone into much detail their... Parental connection, I get the feeling that the inevitable Family Reunion is going to be rough. Like, John's never even mentioned Yog-Sothoth once-and the one time Arthur called attention to "Threshold", he immediately tried to divert the topic.
Given that, the fact that a major theme of Malevolent is familial relationships, as well as the Outer God's near-total absence from the story, I think those things combined all say a lot about the King In Yellow's relationship with the Lurker at the Threshold.
(The Family Reunion will be dramatic, messy, absolutely terrifying, and just as awkward. I can't wait.)

I also find it very interesting that John is seemingly also having a difficult time grappling with his relationship towards Faroe. For all intents and purposes, he wants her to respect him and like him in the same way he does her, and, following prior themes about how closely he and Arthur are, I can't help but imagine those feelings might be more paternal than something less attached. I think a parallel between two unseen fathers in that regard, especially when paired with the inevitable confrontation that will arise from Faroe's revelation, would be fucking immaculate. John looking towards his unseen unattached father, while simultaneously fulfilling that role himself towards Faroe. Something something the cyclical nature of family trauma and grief.
