I didnβt respect myself. (Did I love myself?) Now I have really known suffering. And I have survived. I am aloneβunloved and without someone to loveβthe thing I feared most in the world. I have touched bottom. And I survive. I feel unlovable. But I respect that unlovable soldierβstruggling to survive, struggling to be honest, just, honorable. I respect myself.
