How-To Guide: Fix iPhone could not be synced because the sync session failed to start
iPhone users are having some problems with using iTunes from a long time and one of the most common problem is when they try to sync their iPhone and it fails. IPhone Sync is an automatic process present that was created to keep the iPhone files and iTunes Library managed. But this good feature turns bad when you are not willing to do the sync but as you connect your iPhone to your computer, Sync Process starts.
On the other hand there are times when the iTunes does not start sync process and you get this error message:
“The iPhone could not be synced because the sync session failed to start”
Some Troubleshooting tips if you are getting this error message:
First try to remove iTunes backup files from your computer. Then Launch iTunes with your iPhone connected to the computer. TO delete iTunes backup, you should go to iTunes Preferences (Windows: Choose Edit > Preferences and Mac: Choose iTunes > Preferences), then click on devices and click Delete all Backup. If there are duplicate backup then delete all but one. Then restart your iPhone and your computer and re-initiate Sync Process.
You should remember this fact that before trying this, make a backup of the iTunes backup. The path for iTunes backup in Mac and Windows Systems are different. These are:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Since iTunes only updates backup files instead of creating the new file every time you sync or backup. Updating a file like this over time can cause it to become damaged or corrupted and hence sync error appear. But if you are still getting the iPhone Sync Error or any other kind of situation where iPhone Data is at risk then you should use the iPhone Backup Software. It is a professional program that was created to create the backup of your iPhone. Since it support the iOS operating system, you can use it to make the backup of other iOS devices as well like iPad and iPod Touch. It support all kinds of windows as well as Mac versions so all you need is to download, install, connect your iPhone with PC and run this program and easily make iPhone Backup at any place on your system with an unmatched speed and accuracy.
